Solar_wind hybrid system 1.introduction Hybrid renewable energy systems are becoming popular as stand-alone power systems for providing electricity due to advances in renewable energy technologies and subsequent rise in prices of petroleum products. A hybrid energy system, or hybrid power, usually consists of two or more renewable energy sources used together to provide increased system efficiency as well as greater balance in energy supply.[1] 2.Solar_wind hybrid system It's The combination of wind and solar.it has the advantage that the two sources complement each other because the peak operating times for each system occur at different times of the day and year. [2] Solar_wind hybrid system create more output from the wind turbine during the winter, whereas during the summer, the solar panels would produce their peak output[3] The sun is available in the day , whereas wind energy is available throughout the day and its capacity increases in the nights. Here when sun is not available wind energy comes to play and vice-versa. 3.Block diagram of Solar_wind hybrid system Wind turbine Inverter Controller Pv Array Ac load Dc load 1 Battery 4.component of Solar_wind hybrid system 1-pv system 2-wind power generation 3-hybrid system 2 5.How Solar_wind hybrid system work 1-solar panels collects light and convert it to energy. 2-wind turbine collects energy from the wind. 3-collector used to charge batteries. 4-inverter used to convert Dc to Ac power.[4] 6. Advantages and disadvantages Advantages 1. Continuous power supply . 2. Very high reliability (combines wind power, and solar power). 3. Low maintenance cost. 4. Efficient , easy installation and longer life. 5. No pollution, Clean and pure energy. Disadvantages 1. Complicated controlling process 2. High installation cost . 3. Less battery life. 4. Efficiency is less than conventional power plants. 7. DESIGN OF HYBRID ENERGY SYSTEM For design of the hybrid energy system we need to find the data as follows: DATA REQUIRED FOR SOLAR SYSTEM 1. Annual mean daily duration of Sunshine hours . 2 .Daily Solar Radiation horizental(KWh/m2/day). DATA REQUIRED FOR WIND SYSTEM: Mean Annual Hourly Wind Speed (m/sec) . 3 8.References 1.Ginn, Claire (8 September 2016). "Energy pick n' mix: are hybrid systems the next big thing?"
