Welcome to 6th grade!
The activities in this packet are designed to help ease your transition to middle school, making you less
nervous, and more excited for the year to come.
First up is a reflection, followed by goal setting, and finally a letter to me. Be sure to expect a
reply to the letter from me. :)

Section 1: Reflection
Take a moment to think back on the time you spent in your previous grades, then answer the following
questions.
● Name a favorite class and/or teacher from your previous grades. What was the class and/or
who was the teacher? Briefly explain why you liked them.
● Name extracurricular activities or clubs you were in. Did you have a favorite? What did you
enjoy doing the most?

In the box below, write a letter to your teacher. Express your thoughts and feelings about the upcoming
school year. Consider what you are most excited about for 6th grade, what you are nervous or worried
about, what you hope to learn in 6th grade, questions you have for your teacher, or if there are specific
things you want your teacher to know about you.
