RESUME
Lived 66 years (December 11, 1843 – May 27, 1910).
Made many discoveries in the field of microbiology, studied cholera, anthrax,
consumption, sleeping sickness.
Discovered staining methods microorganisms and different media for grow it.
Had the skills of a surgeon.
He had respect among such outstanding scientists as Louis Pasteur, Jacob Henle (Koch's
teacher at the University. Henle loop in a kedney. Yes-that's him).
Received the Nobel Prize for the study of tuberculosis.
Today, many microbiology awards and even the university are named after Robert Koch
for his many years of contribution to science.
