3. TOPIC 2: GOAL SETTING
DEFINITION GOALS
Goals are the ends toward which we direct our effort. In other words, goals are
things we want to achieve, things we aim for as we pursue a certain course of
action. Goals are important in college because they help motivate you to do your
work, attend classes, and study for exams. Even though you already may have set
some goals for the semester, chances are you thought little about whether those
goals were realistic. You can improve your academic performance in college by
learning to set goals that motivate you to do well and that increase your chance
for success.
THE PURPOSES
We setting the goals to make sure our path is on the right track and accomplish
all the dreams that we,ve been dreaming on.
WHAT IS GOAL SETTING
Goal setting is a process for thinking about your ideal future and for motivating
yourself to turn this vision of the future into reality
Reference of applying concept SMART in setting goals
SMART concept will always be apply everytime when we’ll try to achieve our goals.
Often, individuals or businesses will set themselves up for failure by setting
general and unrealistic goals such as “I want to be the best at X.” This goal is
vague, with no sense of direction.
SMART goals set you up for success by making goals specific, measurable,
achievable, realistic, and timely. The SMART method helps push you further, gives
you a sense of direction, and helps you organize and reach your goals.
