THE COURSE WILL PROVIDE OVER 300 HOURS OF LECTURE, HANDS-ON CLINICAL ANATOMY LAB, AND ACTUAL HANDS-ON IMPLANT PLACEMENT. The program is presented once a month, over a 9-month period. The written portion of the AAID Associate Fellow Membership Examination will be given during the November session. The course is a MUST FOR ALL GENERAL DENTISTS AND SPECIALISTS who want to be proficient in implant dentistry and become an Associate Fellow Member of the AAID. Course Objectives This course will enable participants to: • Discuss the basic sciences as they relate to implant dentistry • Assess many implant systems and applications • Surgically place implants and restore them in patients • Qualify to take the AAID Associate Fellow Membership Exam Course Directors Douglas P. Clepper, DMD, is in private practice in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Clepper graduated from Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He has been teaching the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry since the early 80s. Dr. Clepper has been a featured clinician at the Hinman Dental Meeting, the Chicago Dental Meeting and many other national and international meetings. Dr. Clepper authored the 740 page textbook, SYLLABUS OF PROSTHETICS FOR OSSEOINTEGRATED IMPLANTS. Since 2005, Dr. Clepper has been a clinical faculty member for the General Practice Residency Program at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. Dr. Clepper has done the implant dentistry section of the AGD MasterTrack Program in Georgia, Florida, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Clepper is a Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomate in the American Board of Implantology/Implant Dentistry and a member of the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Clepper is a Mastership member of the Academy of General Dentistry. Michael E. Pruett, DMD, is an Assistant Professor of Oral Rehabilitation and Director of the General Practice Residency Program at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. He received his DMD from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, then a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Virginia. He then became the Director of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. While in Hartford he also served as the Assistant Program Director of the General Practice Residency at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Pruett has placed and restored dental implants for the last 22 years and maintains an active hospital dentistry practice within The Dental College of Georgia. He is also the director of several hands-on continuing dental education courses at Augusta University which include implant placement, sinus augmentation, and I.V. Sedation. Dr. Pruett lectures nationally and internationally on dental implants. He is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also active in many dental organizations including ADA, Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, Academy of Osseointegration and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Pruett was also the 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award for The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University.
