After creation of ABC ID, the students must provide this
ABC ID to the corresponding academic institutions where
they are pursuing/completed their courses from, in order to
enable the academic institutions to upload credits against
student’s ABC ID on DigiLocker - National Academic
Depository.

ABC ID creation via QR Code scanning:
NAD Portal now has provided a QR code based facility that can directly be
used for the creation of ABC ID if the student is already registered on
DigiLocker and has the DigiLocker app installed on his mobile.
13
14
1. Scan the QR Code → The student will be redirected to his/her
DigiLocker app → Once the student is logged in, he'll find a
form that already contains his Name, Date of Birth, and gender
pre-populated.
2. Next, the student will choose the Admission year, his Identity
Type and enter the Identity value, and select his Academic
Institution from the provided dropdown list.
3. To complete the process, then the student can simply click the
"Get Document" button, and he can witness your ABC ID being
generated or fetched.
4. After the ABC ID is successfully created or fetched, the student
can locate it under the "My Issued Documents" section. To view
the ABC ID, simply click on the three dots located on the right
side of the entry.

➢ Once the students’ ABC ID is created, it can be uploaded
to the DigiLocker-NAD website and also it has to be
shared with the university for uploading as well as for
integrating with their end semester results.
➢ Please note that integration of ABC ID with the semester
result is mandatory now, as per the UGC guidelines, and
no result or other documents of a student can be uploaded
onto the NAD website without the ABC ID.
➢ All autonomous colleges can directly upload their
students’ ABC IDs to the NAD website by using a bulk
upload template provided in the Dashboard of their
institutes.
