ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS 1 2 Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) The “Academic Bank of Credits” (ABC) is an educational digital platform created to facilitate students’ seamless mobility between or within degree-granting Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through a formal system of credit recognition, credit accumulation, credit transfers, and credit redemption in order to promote distributed and flexible teaching and learning. The ABC platform will provide students with the opportunity to register for a unique ABC ID, an interactive dashboard to see their credit accumulation, and options to begin a choice-based credit transfer mechanism. In addition, the student self-registration module will enable accurate identification of candidates who want to check and transfer their credits depending on their needs. 3 ABC is a bank for academic records, similar to a commercial bank, with students as academic account holders to whom ABC shall provide a variety of services, including ➢Credit verification, ➢Credit accumulation, ➢Credit transfer or redemption, ➢Authentication of academic awards, etc. 4 5 The following features will be available for the students in the ABC application: ➢ Registration for a unique ABC ID (which can be shared between Academic Institutions for any course) ➢ Viewing of total credit accumulated under one window ➢ Selection of multiple credits of convenience for transfer or redemption ➢ Viewing of the Transfer request status ➢ Re-initiating credit transfer at their conveyance. 6 7 Registration Students can register by logging in at www.abc.gov.in 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Click on My Account → “Login as Student” Click on “Sign in to account via DigiLocker” Enter valid mobile number and security pin. An OTP is sent at the phone number via SMS Enter the OTP and click on “Continue” button Click “Submit” Button The student will be prompted with ABC student account creation window 8 9 10 11 After creation of ABC ID, the students must provide this ABC ID to the corresponding academic institutions where they are pursuing/completed their courses from, in order to enable the academic institutions to upload credits against student’s ABC ID on DigiLocker - National Academic Depository. 12 ABC ID creation via QR Code scanning: NAD Portal now has provided a QR code based facility that can directly be used for the creation of ABC ID if the student is already registered on DigiLocker and has the DigiLocker app installed on his mobile. 13 14 1. Scan the QR Code → The student will be redirected to his/her DigiLocker app → Once the student is logged in, he'll find a form that already contains his Name, Date of Birth, and gender pre-populated. 2. Next, the student will choose the Admission year, his Identity Type and enter the Identity value, and select his Academic Institution from the provided dropdown list. 3. To complete the process, then the student can simply click the "Get Document" button, and he can witness your ABC ID being generated or fetched. 4. After the ABC ID is successfully created or fetched, the student can locate it under the "My Issued Documents" section. To view the ABC ID, simply click on the three dots located on the right side of the entry. 15 16 17 ➢ Once the students’ ABC ID is created, it can be uploaded to the DigiLocker-NAD website and also it has to be shared with the university for uploading as well as for integrating with their end semester results. ➢ Please note that integration of ABC ID with the semester result is mandatory now, as per the UGC guidelines, and no result or other documents of a student can be uploaded onto the NAD website without the ABC ID. ➢ All autonomous colleges can directly upload their students’ ABC IDs to the NAD website by using a bulk upload template provided in the Dashboard of their institutes.
