JOB DESCRIPTION Role: Primary Work Location: Ref No : Proposals Engineer East Kilbride PropEng Reporting to: Company Name: Date Posted: Proposals Manager Weir Power and Industrial th 29 July 2013 Business Need / Purpose of role: This role will entail the control of project specific enquiries from the prequalification stage to contract handover to support the sales and business development team. Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: (results this role is expected to accomplish) • • • • • • Set up and co-ordination of the bid team to meet project requirements Commercial responsibility for specifically allocated service, workshop and subcontract costs for the tender. Preparation of pre-qualifications and tenders within the relevant approval procedures Ensure technical and commercial conditions of contract are successfully negotiated. Establish and maintain regular communication with key clients, including, where necessary site visits. Ensure all work falls within the parameters set by the relevant operating procedures covering tender preparation, risk analysis, approval and handovers. Objectives & Measurement : • • • Provide a best in class, customer focused service that delivers proposals to Weir businesses and clients in a timely and efficient manner. Measurement will be: tender conversion rate to live jobs and the accuracy of the tenders with regards to actual costs, operating profit and delivery timescales and to the correct quality and specifications. HSE performance – Zero LTI’s associated with proposals team. General Information The role will consist of a wide range of duties and will require flexibility at all times. This is essentially a service-orientated environment where customer requirements and good all round commercial and engineering acumen are key. Some international travel will be required to support the business.
