managers. Give examples of each.
Authority Structure: Line managers have direct authority over employees and are responsible for
achieving operational goals. Staff managers have an advisory role, providing specialized support and
expertise.
Decision-Making: Line managers make decisions related to day-to-day operations. Staff managers
advise and assist in decision-making but do not have direct control over operational activities.
Accountability: Line managers are directly accountable for the results of their department or team.
Staff managers are not directly accountable for operational outcomes, but they contribute to
organizational success through their specialized knowledge.
