Georgia Crisis & Access Line (GCAL) Guide
GCAL = online board primarily for placing uninsured 1013/2013 pa@ents. Requires basic labs
and vitals/history. 1-800-715-4225 -> Number for Benchmark referral and to check board status
Not all pa@ents need to be placed on GCAL, insured pa@ents oPen do not (can be faxed
directly). Adults and children can be on the GCAL board. Pa@ents on the board are either ‘green
status’ or ‘red status’.
Green status pa@ents can be reviewed by other facili@es. If a pa&ent is under review by a
facility, they cannot be viewed by other facili&es.
Green status: Adults = Legacy, GA Pines, Aspire. If state contract (funding for uninsured) bed
approval can be Greenleaf, Turning point, etc. (insured facili@es). Adolescents: Lakeside,
viewpoint ini@ally. State contract = Greenleaf, Coastal Harbor, etc.
Red status: Unable to be seen by other facili@es for placement on the board except for LEGACY
which must clear the ‘red’ status. (Greenleaf is only in charge of inpu_ng lab values on the
GCAL board)
