One Minute Speech You don’t need really need to waste that much water while you’re in the bathroom. In fact, I've never understood the whole "turning on the faucet so people can't tell I'm peeing" thing – like you're in the bathroom, what exactly is everyone else going to think you're doing in there if not peeing? It's important to remember that clean freshwater is not always available where and when humans need it. That’s why I’m going to give you three tips on how to reduce your water footprint. Number one, remember to turn off the tap while you are brushing your teeth. A running tap uses 6 liters of water per minute. If you brush your teeth as recommended for two minutes, that’s around 24 liters saved each day. Number two, choose to shower over bathing. A full bath uses up to 80 liters of water whereas a 2-minute shower only uses about 30 liters. Number three, use your washing machine for full loads only, and wash your clothes only when necessary. Your automatic washer, in fact, uses 30 to 35 gallons of water per cycle. Therefore, by using less water, not only will you reduce your bills, but you will also help the environment at the same time. Thank you.
