GENERALITIES INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page4/50 Issuing date 10/11/2022 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 1 Generalities The purpose of this document is to indicate the technical directives relating to the creation from scratch or modification of BIM projects of radio base stations for telecommunications, providing users with the necessary indications for their information processing and management. 1.1 Introduction As part of the digitization of the radio-base stations owned by INWIT SpA, the use of BIM modeling was chosen as a design and data collection tool for the purpose of a detailed analysis of the assets to provide an efficient and effective service to the guests of the infrastructures, control all the processes during the life cycle of the structures and guarantee the concentration in a single document all the information on active and passive useful for the design and maintenance of the site. The use of the BIM methodology in defining INWIT radio-base station projects is required for each type of intervention related to them, whether it is preliminary or executive design, maintenance or structural checks. 1.2 Purpose of the specification This specification describes the project management methods in Revit defined by INWIT for the design of new radio systems or upgrades in radio base stations for owned sites. Compliance with the methods will ensure that, during the acquisition phase, the design files are successfully acquired by the platform. Otherwise the files will be rejected and will be returned to the designers. 1.3 Recipients The regional references of the INWIT SpA departments, and in particular: ▪ ▪ the Technology department the Operation & Maintenance department INWIT guests and all technical professionals who will collaborate in the design and implementation of the radio base stations. 1.4 Scope All rural and city plants owned by INWIT SpA are affected by the application of this specification. All NEW INWIT SpA sites will be designed in Revit. For development activities on EXISTING sites, the Supplier checks the availability of the Revit project on the INWIT BIM platform and, if present, continues with its update using the phase method. 1.5 Technologies The modeling of the site must comply with the real SRB to which it refers, therefore it is required that, any intervention, be elaborated on the Autodesk Revit BIM platform, in Italian (ITA), to always be updated to the latest version on the market. 1.6 Structure of the specification In order to simplify the reading of this document, the expository structure and the main contents are highlighted. Chapter 1 - Generalities In this chapter the purposes of the specification and the performances to be obtained from the modeling are expressed. Chapter 2 – Modeling standards This chapter defines the basic settings for managing BIM projects for correct modeling. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page5/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 Chapter 3 – Family management This chapter defines the criteria with which the families were developed, the minimum requirements for compiling the parameters and the correct use of the components in order to obtain the performance envisaged by chapter 1 of this specification Chapter 4 – Methods of delivery of the project This chapter defines the methods and objects to be deposited during the delivery of the project on the Athena platform. 1.7 Performance Maximum precision is required in the elaboration of projects. The model created must allow an analysis of the actual state of the places and reliable static checks. To achieve the expected performance, the minimum development level required is LOD "D" of the technical regulation UNI 11337-4 2017, i.e. the elements of the model must be graphically represented as components of a specific system (the child restraint system in question), objects or sets of objects will have to be defined in terms of quantity, size, shape, position and orientation and interference with the context. Non-graphical information may be embedded within model elements. The correct use of the families requires the valorisation of all the mandatory parameters shown. Projects will be evaluated on an informational, architectural and structural level. If the check of the information completeness of the model is not successful, the project will not be able to move on to the subsequent validation steps. It follows that compliance with the methods for creating and managing the models indicated in this document will guarantee the correct acquisition of the model by the INWIT BIM platform, otherwise the files will be rejected and will be returned to the designers. Maximum precision is required in the representation of the data necessary for the processing of the static verification of the antenna support structure and specifically: a) the geometric/mechanical characterization of the main structure, its connections and its anchorages to the supporting substructure (building frame or foundation plinth). In detail, maximum precision is required in the definition of dimensions, thickness, material, activation of the analytical model, positioning of the analytical nodes, for the following structural components: ▪ antenna poles; ▪ Struts; ▪ stays; ▪ Truss rods; ▪ Structural connections in general (correct definition of positioning, thicknesses, bolts, diameters etc); ▪ Structural foundations (plinths, beams, slabs); ▪ Outreaches; ▪ Breakdown frames; ▪ Substructures supported by the RBS (existing building pillars, existing building beams, existing building loadbearing walls); INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page6/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 More generally, in verifying the model, the utmost attention will be paid to the correctness of all the components belonging to the categories: ▪ Structural pillars; ▪ Structural frame; ▪ Structural foundations; ▪ Structural connections. b) the number, size, orientation and share of radiating elements and related amplifiers. All the components belonging to the Data Devices category will be analyzed in detail and in particular: ▪ Antennas; ▪ parables; ▪ RRU; ▪ ODU. Overall inaccuracies that affect the design strength of the structure by more than 5% will not be tolerated; if found, a revision of the work will be requested free of charge. The utmost precision is also required in the use and correct placement of the elements belonging to the equipment room such as: ▪ Paintings; ▪ Energy Stations; ▪ Apparatus cabinets; ▪ air conditioners; ▪ Housing in general; ▪ Counters; ▪ Equipment support systems. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page7/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS CHAPTER 2 – MODELING STANDARDS INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page8/50 Issuing date 10/11/2022 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 2 Standard modeling settings The purpose of this chapter is to define the procedures for correctly setting up the BIM modeling according to the standards established by INWIT SpA for the purposes of delivery and subsequent approval of projects. 2.1 Use of the INWIT proprietary library All installations (new or upgrade sites) will be designed by accessing exclusively the Revit system families and the INWIT proprietary ones, which can be downloaded via the dedicated platform, Athena. Although the components are in continuous development/enrichment, they may not cover everything present in the SRB. In these cases, the professional must request this component from INWIT, via the platform, accompanying the request with the documentation in his possession, which is descriptive of the object/detail found, and wait for INWIT to release the family before proceeding with the its integration in the BIM elaboration. All the families that do not follow the aforementioned procedure will be classified as errors in the model and this will compromise the informative correctness of the model itself. For the modeling of antenna support structures, the system families must be used (e.g. pipes present in the structural pillars category and flanges supplied in Structural Connections and which can be implemented with the Steel sheet). 2.2 Modeling settings in Revit 2.2.1Project Templates To maximize the standardization of project outputs, the adoption of the INWIT Template as the basic layout for the design is mandatory. The template contains: ▪ The design information describing the child restraint in question; ▪ The minimum tables to be filled in to satisfy the graphic requests of the executive and/or preliminary design; ▪ Preset abacuses according to the categories of which the SRB is made up with highlighting, for each of them, of the mandatory parameters to be filled in; ▪ The legends; ▪ The standard nomenclature of the loading conditions of the structure; ▪ Color scheme for the characterization of the single operator's located areas ▪ Project phases and phase filters (factual state, project state, comparative and as built). You can insert it into the predefined Project Templates by going toFile > Options > File location > + > Select the .rte file provided by INWIT. This is possible thanks to a simple setting (Manage > Location) which allows both to enter the coordinates manually and to enter them through the internet location service. The project base point has as its properties the absolute latitude, longitude, elevation and rotation coordinates with respect to the true north of the model. This represents the origin of the project, with coordinates 0,0,0, and with respect to it the position of each instantiated object is referred. In the model, the project base point must correspond, in plan view, to the insertion point of the antenna support structure, therefore: for roof tops it will be the ground projection of the central point of the pole or of one of the poles present on the building, or the projection to the ground of the geometric center of the truss INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page13/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 placed on the building; for raw land it will be the center point on the ground of the post or the geometric center of the base of the trellis. If in these structures there is thecontrol room, it must be characterized by all the elements of the case, i.e. perimeter walls, floor, roof slab and openings, so as to be able to implement it when air conditioning interventions are carried out. It is also necessary that the room is located precisely with respect to the radiant system and that all the elements inside it (equipment, racks, supports, etc.) are represented at an executive level and in the correct location. 2.2.6Definition of the located areas It is required that a map of the leased areas be defined, representative of the areas owned by INWIT SpA and located by the different guests of the infrastructure. Figure 7 - Visualization of areas located on the plan Figure 8 - Visualization of operators color scheme INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page15/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 Depending on the level/level of installation of the equipment on site, one or more plant views must be created in the Coordination discipline and renamed based on the coding present in the example views specially created in the template. 2.2.7Management of project phases – Historicization of development interventions It is required, forEVERY NEWdevelopment intervention, whether it is an adaptation of an existing BIM model or the creation of a new site, to generate a specific project phase. The new phase of the project will be characterized as follows: In the fieldFirst name : the activity code assigned on INWI (e.g. ATT-123456) In the fieldDescription : - Managerwho carries out the intervention (the exact wording must be extrapolated from Annex 2 - List of Managers) Theretypology(as per INWI description) Theredateplanned implementation Example: First name Description ATT-123456 Telecom – colocation – 07/31/2020 In the template some standard phases have been pre-set as the address to be filled in as indicated by this specification: Figure 9 - Tab view of the Project Phases The following work phase filters are present in the INWIT Template: ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ State of affairs; Project Status; Comparative; As Built. These are applicable to each project phase generated, and allow to immediately identify and evaluate the extent of the intervention. The proposed logical organization will make it possible to historicize the succession of demolition and construction interventions carried out on site. Figure 10 - Tab view of the Work Phase Filters Figure 11 - Graphic replacement tab view 2.2.8Project views and tables The INWIT template contains pre-set project views and tables. The tables are divided into design categories: architectural, plant engineering and structural. The architectural tables, usually used for general planning, are: INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page17/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE - General planimetry; - Floor plan 1:100; - Radiant system detail plan; - Two elevations; - Two sections; - Plan of the located surfaces; Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 The plant tables represent the minimum graphic contents for the plant project and are as follows: - General scheme; - Block diagram; - MAT Scheme; The structural tables represent the minimum set to detail the carpentry of the SRB for the purposes of the executive design. These are: - Construction details; - Plan of the structures 1:100; - Foundations; - Structural section; There may be a chance that sites from return activities do not contain this set of tables. In these cases, it is required to copy the project settings present in the new INWIT template. The creation and loading of new personalized title blocks for operators to be renamed as follows is allowed: - Family (Cartouche Category): or or or Athena_Inwit-Cartouche_A4 Athena_Inwit-Cartouche_A3 Athena_Inwit-Cartouche_An The set of sheets and the views present will have to be updated during the design phase. The families to be included in the projects can beloadable families(recallable from an external library) or system families. As previously mentioned, the valid libraries for the correct modeling of the child restraint systems owned by INWIT SpA, and therefore for the acceptance of the model on the BIM platform, are exclusively the INWIT library and the Revit system libraries. Families customized by the user and local families will not be accepted, and therefore evaluated as a project error. 3.1 Characterization of families The families that make up the radio-base stations covered by this specification can be grouped as follows: Data Devices Antennas Parables RRU ODU Structural Pillars Poles Polygonal poles Structural frame Struts Stay Truss rods Structural connections Plates Bolts Structural connections Outreaches/Supports Collars Structural Foundations Foundations Electrical Equipment Paintings Energy stations BTS radio equipment Shelters Rack Mechanical equipment Conditioners Special Equipment Framework support Lift systems Floor them The description of the families with the complete list of parameters, their nature (type or instance) and the nomenclature assigned to them will be illustrated in the documentation available online. Each family has the "Description" parameter valued with the version number (V00, V01, V02, etc..). The evolution of the families is constant in order to make them more complete and performant, therefore it is required that the latest version of the families available within the platform is always used. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page21/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 3.2 Criteria for inclusion of families All families are set up to lie on the plane they are placed in or to be hosted on a surface. Exceptions are the families relating to antennas and dishes, for which the "antenna base" and/or "electric center" parameter is provided, which measure the distance between the object and the ground level to be made to coincide with the project level 0 . Below are three practical examples of setting the components. ▪ For pillars, foundations, structural connections, accessories, passive components and equipment, the reference system is linked to the level on which the element is located. Figure 13 - Insertion of structural column ▪ For the pylons, the reference system is linked to the level on which the Massa family is located, created for the correct characterization of the individual links that compose it and the individual structural elements/profiles. Offset or elevation values from null antenna level and base will not be accepted. If, in the project subject to intervention, the new version of an already instantiated family is inserted, it must be selected“Overwrite the existing version”, to avoid creating different sequential nomenclatures and to avoid losing the data of those already instantiated. Figure 17 – Update of already instantiated families In case of modification of the type parameters and on specific request it will be necessary to proceed with the option“Overwrite the existing version and its parameter values” INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page24/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 3.3 Filling out the instance parameters In this phase the instance parameters will be compiled as indicated in the documents consulted for the drafting of the model or on the basis of the planning indications provided by the manager. Within the models there are categorized schedules, which allow you to keep all the instance parameters of the various components under control. Figure 18 - Typical display of project schedules The mandatory minimum parameters to be filled in and the methods for entering data will be highlighted so that the families are accepted by the BIM platform. These parameters are listed in Annex 1 and 2 of this specification. For each element (poles, poles, pylon links, bolts, elements of the radiant system, etc...) a yes/no parameter has been created called "to be validated on site", through which it is possible to indicate the veracity of the data. The parameter must be used in the absence of information useful for the correct definition of those indicated in the aforementioned Annex 1. For the elements of the radiant system, again through a yes/no parameter, situations of non-conformity of the modeled object must be highlighted if it is "Installed not authorised" or "Authorised not installed". 3.4 Using the material library In order to characterize INWIT's infrastructure models in the most coherent way with regard to the state of affairs and design, the library of materials is made available, already present in the standard template and available to be integrated even in templates that are not updated at all. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PLAN OF BIM PROJECTS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Edition 00 November 2022 Page26/50 Document type: Technical specifications Information management plan of BIM projects Issued by: TO.IE Document code Version IE2021-ST-PGI-01 5.0 – F1 Issuing date 10/11/2022 The complete integration of the modeling in Revit with such software allows a considerable saving of time in the elaboration of the calculation model, remaining in any case reliable in the results. To pursue this objective, in the modeling phase (with the use of the Revit software), the model must follow very specific rules: a) Definition of the materials of the structural components (structural pillars, structural frame and structural foundations) with their relative physical characteristics; b) Consistent use of structural elements (e.g. rafters created with elements of the "Structural frame" category, post created with elements of the "Structural pillars" category, etc.); c) Activation of the analytical model for the structural elements; The arrangement of the analytical axes belonging to the structural elements must represent the actual geometric arrangement of the antenna-supporting structure. In correspondence with the analytical nodes that do not intersect the main analytical model, by selecting the involved members and modifying their properties, it is necessary to add rigid links (e.g. strut-pole connection). Figure 19 - Management of the analytical model For the modeling of flanged piles, the family of structural piles called "Circular hollow-pillar sections" must be used.If it is necessary to create a new type, as it is not present among those available, the following naming convention will be used: TRONdiameterxthickness (Ex: TRON139x8). When creating the new type, the following parameters must be updated: OD, t, W, A. For the modeling of the trusses, the structural frame families called "L-profiles, double L-profiles, double-C profile" can be used.If it is necessary to create a new type, as it is not present among those available, the following nomenclature convention will be used: CAElatoprofilexthickness (Ex: CAE110x10) or in any case you will have to go in continuity with the nomenclature of the standard Revit types .When creating the new type, the following parameters must be updated: W, A, k, b, d, t, x, y. For the modeling of the foundations, the loadable families supplied by Inwit or those present in the Revit system library can be used.If it is necessary to create a new type, the nomenclature to be used will be the following: lengthxwidthxdepth (e.g.: 1500x1500x800 mm) . Consistent with what is reported in the executive tables and with the functions offered by the Revit environment, the geometric and mechanical characterization of the beams/foundations is required ('Structure' >'Structural Foundations' ) with details of the class of concrete and reinforcement, with specification of distances, diameters, shape, concrete cover and indication of the length of the anchor bars and the type of resins envisaged. For each structural component, the check box must be ticked 'activate analytical model', indicate the constraint conditions and specify the type/class of the material. The existing Set must be eliminated, the group deselected and the “Sheets in the model” shown in the list. Figure 20 - Setting Publishing Settings At the end of the operation you will have to save and close 4.2 Model cleanup and export to IFC format After verifying that the site and family information has been filled in correctly, delete all unused elements within the model before starting the export procedure in .ifc format excluding families categorized as data devices. This export must be related to the phase subject to intervention and performed with respect to the prepared 3D view.
