This document does not guarantee results, nor is it investment advice to start an Amazon business, this
is just the same methods I used to start my Amazon businesses… by continuing to read you agree to
these terms and hold the Goat harmless and release him from all liability.
How to find $1M potential product ideas on Amazon.
1) Start with a very broad keyword of a type of product you might be interested in selling that you
know people buy a lot of. In this example I am using “Home Décor”
Find a product between $10-$30 brand with lots of reviews. Lots of reviews means lots of sales. Make
sure it’s not from a big name brand that tons of people know and love, you don’t want to compete with
huge popular brands!

I selected this wall mount storage thingy for this example.
Download Helium10 Chrome Extension and use Xray product research tool to verify the product you
found has significant volume.
This product is doing $150K revenue per month

Verify there is a larger market for these products, and this is not the only one of its kind selling a lot, to
do this look at the product title, take the main keywords with out the brand name included and copy
paste it into the Amazon search bar. I am using “mop broom holder wall mount” people put these
keywords in their title for a reason!

Verified! Now lets make sure some of them are getting decent sales also! Use Xray again on the search
results page you just looked up.
And just like that we found a viable product to market! $1.1M of these products sell per month

Now comes the “hard part” look at the top 5 products by revenue amount in this space, go to their
reviews…
Look at their 1,2 & 3 star reviews. They will literally tell you how to design a better product, to sell to a
hungry audience. Look for the same things mentioned over and over across multiple of the top 5. These
will be the design features of your product, the ones you want to display in images, talk about in your
listing.

From my quick 5-minute review here I can see that people want better hardware and want more
spacing in between the hooks to hang stuff, seems simple enough!
Now let’s find a supplier, for this product the average price was $14 the average fees were $7,

My gut reaction is that if we would build a better product with these features and improvements people
are looking for then we could sell it around $17.99 with no issues at all. This leaves us $11 to source the
product, advertise it on Amazon (I would budget roughly 20% of sales price at launch for Ads or $3.50)
so now we have 7.50 to work with, we want to land our product for under $3.
Take the same keyword and go to Alibaba. This one was “mop broom holder wall mount”
Check “Trade Assurance” this eliminates many low budget suppliers.
Now you need to sift through all the supplier, find one that you like, look at their catalog of products,
make sure they are making a bunch of similar material and build products. (Example this one is metal,
you want to make sure they build other metal products, this means they have the correct welding
machines, they know how to work with metal and are more likely to make a quality product.

Reach out to them and start designing your new product. When I am brand new to a product, I like to
reach out to just one supplier first, go back and forth with them refining the design, learning the lingo
you need to know to talk professionally with other suppliers and coming up with a budget price. Once
you have all this down, you can make a document of exactly what you are looking to source and send a
PDF off to 10 other suppliers to compare prices, communication skills etc.
This is the exact method I used to select products to build and scale my Amazon business from $0 to
$1M revenue in 1 year and beyond.
