QUIZ UNGS 1201- REVIEW OF PROPHECIES OF MUHAMMAD SAW NAME: SHARIFAH NUR HUSNA ALEZA BINTI SYED AL MATRIC NO.: 2010708 SECTION: 11 COURSE CODE: UNGS 1201 INSTRUCTOR’S NAME: NORZLIFA ZAINAL ABIDIN There are numerous issues and lessons that I have found in “Mind Blowing Prophecies of Muhammad” video. The first main topic is about Arab Bedouins Prophecy. The issues that stated is nowadays human busy competing with each other to build tall buildings. It may give benefits in economy as skyscrapers provide those who occupy them with some pretty spectacular views of the city around them which will attract tourist. But the effects on the tall buildings in order to exploit the land with having the negative effects in the environment create new problems including increasing congestion population, environmental pollution, reduce citizen access to fresh air and sunlight. Because of the competition a poor country, Mecca became a country that has 3rd tallest building in the world. I have learnt that to save our environment, we have to stop competing in build tall building instead more focus what we have and start participate in “Go Green” campaign and live in a simple way just like Prophet Muhammad encouraged Muslim to not live in extravagant. Next, everyone in the world right now are normalise sexual morality. As time passes people are not feel shy doing sexual morality publicly with opposite gender like donkey fornicate. As we live in advance era where everything is under our fingertips, what we posted, will spread everywhere. At the same time, most people get the HIV virus by having unprotected sex with someone who has HIV. To improve ourselves as Muslims, we have to watchful our ikhtilat and take care of our imaan by remember prophet Muhammad teaching such "Those who guard their chastity (ie. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame."— [al-Mu’minoon 23:5-6]. We also have to remember to take care of our lineage, so it will free from any diseases and the future of the planet which must be safe and peaceful for new generations to enjoy. Besides that, Muslims won to conquer Persia and defeat Roman remained untold because they are poor and lacked economic and military strength but they could have that superpower to win. When prophet Muhammad said “Allah is great”, it shown that he has faith in Allah and trust Allah to help him during war battle even though the number of Muslims army are 1:3 compared to enemies. People want to live a life of peace that is endangered by terrorism, war, human rights abuses and so forth. Peace and the requirements to live a purposeful and fulfilling life and support peace are necessary. Other than that, in our daily lives we cannot run from interest. It is prohibited for Muslim to involve in any transactions that have interest as stated in surah an-nisa verse 161 “And for their taking interest even though it was forbidden for them, and their wrongful appropriation of other people’s property. We have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment (4: 161)”. Maqasid shariah which is property also mentioned that Muslims are required to work to accumulate health in his search for his livelihood but in doing so, must not contravene shariah principles. Banks used to demand more mortgages to support the profitable sale of these derivatives, it created the financial crisis that led to the Great Recession in 2008. The lesson is we have to always remember that Allah will punish those who involve in interest. To be avoid from that kind of transaction, we can stop taking loan and start saving for emergency. The best way to avoid paying interest on credit card is to pay off balance in full every month and it also can avoid other fees, such as late charges, by paying credit card bill on time. Interest also one of the reasons the rich become richer and poor become poorer. Not knowing how much debt they really have and how much interest they are paying can lead to poverty said Jeff Rose, founder of GoodFinancialCents.com. So, one of the targets to reduce inequality or known as 10th SDGs is Adopt policies, especially fiscal, wage and social protection policies, and progressively achieve greater equality. Moreover, Prophet Muhammad spread da’wah in reading and writing even though he used to not know how to read and write. When he spread his da’wah, even Muslims from lower society now can read. From this issue we can see that the importance of writing and reading as it is part of intellect which the source of people’s honour and virtue. In this modern era with the existence of internet, people can learn read and write easily even at the young ages. At the same time, not everyone has the opportunity to read and write especially from poor and develop countries. According SDGs official website, In 10 low- and middle-income countries, children with disabilities were 19per cent less likely to achieve minimum proficiency in reading than those without disabilities. To celebrate literacy in our own life is the lesson I got. While it can heart breaking to know that literacy is a right millions of people don't have, feeling guilty about our ability to read and write does little to solve the issue. As an advocate, it's important to view our own relationship with literacy as something to nurture and celebrate. Make sure to take time to reflect on the importance of literacy in our own life. Even if we live in a neighbourhood that doesn't seem to need literacy support at first glance, it's crucial to support reading and writing skills in all communities — especially for underserved youth. Low income and people with disabilities are at risk in all communities for not acquiring adequate reading skills. Knowing that, you can help make a difference by getting involved. Arab will once again will become meadows and river as foretold by Prophet Muhammad and it happens today. Arab that used to has dry dessert with no farming became green with the helped of technology. A fact from life on land said that as many as 80 per cent of people living in rural areas in developing countries rely on traditional plant-‐based medicines for basic healthcare. It can be a prove that Arabians that used to live in dessert or rural rely on plant and day by day they became successful with that. The lesson learned is we have to grab a chance to change our lives and always find a way out of problems as Arabians found how to go out from dry dessert to country that full of meadows and rivers. A way to improve the use of land is the introduction of modern inputs, such as fertilizers and seeds, will dramatically change land use-the increased yields obtained allow farmers to implement more suitable farming techniques that better protect the soil of the tire and bring new heart into the soil. Land degradation rates would then decrease. Last but not least, Muslims used to conquer every major in this world but was defeated by non-Muslims and from 19th century until now, the number of Muslims are growing in the extent where the numbers of followers will enter every household, but they weak like foam in the river as foretold by Prophet Muhammad and it is true. Nevertheless, with the big amounts of Muslims, they have to increase trust and appreciation for the other Muslims which promotes SDG, partnership. They also must practice to understand and find commonalities for the benefit of humanity especially when Muslims at the point where they are weak, we have to help them bring back to Allah. A way for Muslims to become stronger and be a good Muslims is we have to trust that, any path that is different from that of Islam’s is bound to fail. Those who stuck to Islam, despite what people around them said in their time, have always emerged victorious. The examples are too many, but the point is: don’t be weakened. Be strong and stand firm, because, by Allah, you are upon the truth.
