The principal
Respected Sir/ Ma'am
St. Columba's School is glad to bring to your notice that we will be hosting
“The Columban Fest” for the year 2023-24, on the 6th and 7th of October.
The Columban Fest is our school's annual inter school event that has been
held consistently for the last 21 years and is one of the most-awaited
fixtures of the year.
Over the years, The Columban Fest has provided an extraordinary platform
for the students to showcase, and often, discover their talents, in front of
large audiences. Such a competition enables students to transcend all
boundaries of their hesitations and inhibitions and communicate more
effectively with the world around them.
It gives me honour and pleasure to extend this invitation to your school, to
grace us with your presence. We eagerly await your active participation.
Please find attached below, the various guidelines and criteria for
participation in the various events. Kindly confirm your school's
participation by the 20th of September.
Warm regards,
Br. Robert Fernandez
Principal

Jeopardy! round.
• Gameplay: The game begins with the host, presenting a clue
to the contestants in a chosen category. Each clue is worth a
certain amount of money.
• Response Format: Contestants must phrase their response
in the form of a question. For example, if the clue is "This
U.S. state is known as the Sunshine State," the correct
response would be "What is Florida?"
• Buzzing In: Contestants use a handheld device to buzz in
when they want to respond to a clue. However, they must
wait until the host finishes reading the clue and the lights on
the game board change to indicate that they can buzz in.
• Daily Doubles: In the Jeopardy! and Double Jeopardy!
rounds, one or more clues are designated as "Daily
Doubles." The contestant who selects a Daily Double can
wager any amount of their current winnings before seeing
the clue.
• Double Jeopardy! In the Double Jeopardy! round, the clue
values are doubled. The round also introduces new
categories.
• Final Jeopardy! In the Final Jeopardy! round, a single clue is
presented in a specific category. Contestants write down
their responses and wagers within a time limit. Their wagers
depend on their current winnings.
• Winnings and Scoring: Correct responses earn contestants
the value of the clue they answered. Incorrect responses
deduct the value from their score. In the Final Jeopardy!
round, both the correct response and wager are considered.
• Winning and Advancing: The contestant with the most
money at the end of the Final Jeopardy! round wins the
game and takes their winnings. The other contestants
receive consolation prizes. The winning contestant might be

Family Feud: -"Columban Feud" If it's based on the popular game
show "Family Feud," here are some rules and regulations you can
consider implementing:
Each team should consist of 3 members.
Participants must be students from your school.
The game will be played in a tournament-style, with multiple
rounds leading to the finals.
A game host will ask survey questions to the participating teams.
Questions would be general and family-friendly, suitable for a
school setting.
Two teams compete against each other in each round.
A team representative is chosen to provide the first answer to a
survey question.
The representative has a limited time (e.g., 10 seconds) to give an
answer.
If their answer matches one of the top survey answers, their team
wins control of the round and can choose to "Play" or "Pass."
"Play" and "Pass" Options:
If the team chooses to "Play," they attempt to guess the remaining
answers on the survey question.
If the team chooses to "Pass," the opposing team gets a chance to
answer. If they provide a correct answer, they "steal" control of
the round.
Participants are expected to maintain sportsmanship and respect
towards their teammates, opponents, and event organisers.
Any form of cheating or disruptive behaviour can lead to
disqualification.
• Guessing Rounds:
• Teams take turns providing answers. If they guess a correct
answer, it's revealed on the board along with the number of points
associated with it.
• If a team provides an incorrect answer, it's marked as an "X."
Three "X" marks result in the other team gaining control.
• Scoring: • Points are awarded based on the rank of the answer. The most
popular answer gets the highest points, and the least popular gets
fewer points.
• The team with the most points at the end of the round wins those
points.
• Points accumulate across rounds to determine the overall winner.
