What is GENRE? •A genre refers to a kind of writing, and in academic writing usually refers to the arrangement of a text to accomplish the goals of that Genres: •Songs, riddle, maxim, epics and folktales Songs/folk lyric •Often consist of repetitions were those that expressed their emotions of love, hope, aspirations, and human relationships. Epics & folktales •Folk narratives that explain how and why things exist, or how things are created. epics •Are in the form of a long poem which tells about adventures of a hero in certain place . •Epics are grand, long compositions about the heroic deeds of men and women.
