b. Coordinates the PPAN activities of the

c. Conducts OPT under the supervision of RHU
d. Organizes groups to implement nutrition
interventions
e. Assesses progress of nutrition interventions
(Implement, Monitor, Evaluate)
f. Holds regular quarterly meetings to monitor
program performance

g. Organize, reorganize and strengthen
functional barangay nutrition committees with
local chief executive as Chairperson thru local
ordinance
h. Sustain recruitment and deployment of BNS
and continual support through capability
building, logistics: weighing scale and height
boards, monetary and non-monetary

Provide incentives to members of the BNC to
the extent possible

Why BNC functionality?
• To establish system for monitoring and maintain a
database on functional local nutrition committees
• Serve as basis for identification and prioritization of
LGUs that needs technical assistance
• This is conducted twice a year

Fully functional- all indicators are present
Substantially functional- lacks 1-2 indicators
Partially functional- lacks 3-4 indicators
Non-functional- more than 5 or half of the indicators are
absent
