1. SAFETY


PA to raise PTW and HITRA for the scope of work to be carried out.

Essential Personnel only to be permitted in the work area, area to be barricaded off &
safety sign to be put in place accordingly.

Existing access egress routes to be used in case of any emergency and to be clearly stated
to the personals involved via TBT.


Toolbox Talk to be conducted with all personnel involved in the task.

Execution and HSE team to ensure that all equipment to be used for task is inspected, fit
for purpose and in compliance.
Task specific RA to be developed for task and communicated via TBT and signed off by all
personnel.
HSE officer to ensure that suitable and sufficient PPE is available and worn by all
personnel.
2. OBEJECTIVE
The purpose of this method statement is to Install, Modify and Dismantle Scaffold to Erect, Modify &
Dismantle scaffold to access for the vessel to perform C Scan inspection of the shell, dish ends and the
bottom nozzles at DS11 station.
It is supported by guidance for scaffold installation, dismantling, inspection and maintenance, and
advice for workers on managing the risks associated with scaffolds and related scaffolding work.
This shall be carried out properly & safely by RAK team.
3. STANDARDS
The Works shall comply with the latest editions of appropriate standards including ROO procedures
and HSE requirements.

6. SCOPE OF WORK

Scaffolding Erection & Dismantling
To execute the above said task, the following activities will be carried out very carefully and very
controlled manner.
7. SCAFFOLDING ERECTING AND DISMANTLING PROCEDURE

The purpose of this procedure is to ensure scaffolding is adequate for the work to be
performed and properly erected and dismantled.

It covers selecting, erecting, and dismantling all types of scaffolds. It applies to workers,
supervisors, scaffold qualified persons, scaffold custodians, and Facilities.

To Evaluate the work required, Inspect the location, Confirm the best scaffold choice and
determine the scaffold’s duration.

To Reviews and includes procedures required by ROO as determined by the type of
scaffolding.

Supervises, with assistance of and scaffold qualified person, scaffold assembly to ensure
standards and regulatory requirements are met.

Erects scaffold as per the instructions from the scaffold erector/dismantler supervisor, the
scaffold qualified person, and training.

ERECTING, ALTERING OR DISMANTLING Risk assessments and safe work method statements
are the joint responsibility of the scaffolding supervisor and scaffolding technicians. They must

obtain information/consult from the scaffold inspectors to the workers who undertake the
erecting, altering or dismantling of the scaffolds.

RAK scaffold supervisor will review the approved scaffold design and ensure that all necessary
equipment is available.

The scaffold erectors will assemble the scaffold in accordance with the approved design,
ensuring that all connections are secure.

ROO scaffold supervisor/Authority will inspect the scaffold before allowing personnel to
access it.

The scaffold supervisor will install all necessary safety features, including toe-boards,
guardrails, and safety harnesses.

The scaffold supervisor will ensure that all personnel have safely evacuated the scaffold
before dismantling begins.



The scaffold erectors will disassemble the scaffold in the reverse order of erection.

The scaffold erectors will modify the scaffold in accordance with the approved design,
ensuring that all connections are secure.

The scaffold supervisor will inspect the modified scaffold before allowing personnel to access
it.

The scaffold supervisor will install all necessary safety features, including toe-boards,
guardrails, and safety harnesses.

Ensures scaffold maintenance is performed if needed, Ensures the work site is left in a clean
and safe condition.
All scaffolding components will be lowered to the deck safely and stored in a designated area.
The scaffold supervisor will review the proposed modification and ensure that all necessary
equipment is available.
8. HOUSE KEEPING

Area to be cleaned and barricades and warning tapes to be removed, site will be made good
and control handed back to the client.

Works to be inspected during and on completion of works by site engineer or competent
foreman.

After completion of all scrap and debris will be removed using registered waste carriers.
