An initiative by Corporate HR, Learning & Development It is a constant endeavor of Centre of Excellence for improvement initiatives (CoE - CHR L&D) to build competencies and enhance business performance by going beyond a tools-focused approach to seamlessly integrate people, processes and technology in continuous improvement initiatives to suit the specific needs and situations of businesses. Pi-Awards, a pan-L&T innovation competition is instituted to recognize the efforts of employees in improving various products, processes and services. It provides a platform to reward the hard work and energies invested in implementing the innovative projects. It also gives a unique opportunity to showcase the best practices and increase visibility of the achievements. Process Innovation (PI) is a never ending journey which is aptly symbolized by Pi (π), a mathematical constant whose decimal representation never ends. AWARDS CATEGORIES Team awards: There are three categories of innovation initiatives under which you can apply: • Projects: Innovation initiatives in Project Execution (e.g. EPC projects) • Products: Innovation initiatives in Product Offerings (e.g. Manufactured products) • Services: Innovation initiatives in Delivery of Services (e.g. Business process enablers) Each team will compete with other teams in its own category only. Business Award: Business Level entries are invited for the award for The ‘Role Model in Operational Excellence Journey'. 1 ELIGIBILITY HOW TO APPLY? • The contest is open to all L&T employees f rom all ICs/SBGs, including S&A Companies • Check the eligibility and appropriate category before filing the application form. • Only team entries will be accepted. • The application form can be downloaded f rom the portal. The duly filled application (in editable form as well as signed pdf) must be uploaded on https: //piawards.larsentoubro.com • A team can send more than one entry. • Max team size 10 members. • The innovation projects should have been completed by 31st March, 2023. EVALUATION PROCESS Team awards: • Preliminary round: Screening of all entries by internal panel of senior members f rom different businesses based on application document. • Presentation round: Shortlisted teams f rom each category will be invited for virtual presentation. • Grand finale: Top 3 teams f rom each category will compete in the Grand Finale. Business Award: The entries shortlisted through preliminary round based on application document will go through assessment at site and winner & runner-up will be announced at Grand Finale. • Last date to send in entries: 30 th April 2023. • For any clarification, write to our email coe-awards@larsentoubro.com EVALUATION CRITERIA • Evaluation of the entries will be done by a panel of jury members, comprising senior management of L&T, industry experts f rom other companies and SMEs f rom academia. • Each round will be evaluated independently and teams will go to the next round based on score of that round only. • Entries will be evaluated based on linkage to strategic objectives, methodology / tools used, business impact, effective resource utilization, sustenance, horizontal deployment and innovation. THE PRIZES • Top 3 teams at Grand Finale f rom each category will be awarded the following prizes together with a commendation certificate & a trophy. Winning team: Rs. 25,000 | Runner-up team: Rs. 10,000 • Commendation Prizes for Top 10 teams from each IC/Business (subject to 100 nominations from that IC/Business) • Commendation Prizes for Top 5 teams from each IC/Business (subject to 50 nominations from that IC/Business) • Role Model in Operational Excellence journey: winner and runner-up trophy • Sp ecial Recognition to IC/SBG for sustained excellence based on team participation & performance in Pi-Awards over last five years.
