Teacher’s day 2023: students give back to teachers by gifts, performances Last October 6, 2023, La Purisima Concepcion Academy had a program for the teachers, held at the gymnasium to celebrate the World Teacher’s Day spearheaded by the student council. To give blessings and guidance for the whole activity, the school attended mass led by Fr. Obina Moises. After that, cheers began to surface as the students prepared for their room-to-room surprise to their advisers. Gift-giving took place as well during the event. To give way to the second part of the teacher’s day celebration, the afternoon classes have been suspended. Teachers have several stations to choose from, provided by the student council to entertain and indulge them; there was a karaoke room, manicure room, massage room, movie room, recreational room, and sleeping room. Ma’am Ghoannalyn Cuenca, a Grade 8 adviser, said that “It made me feel special. It was a new, enjoyable, and fulfilling experience for me, as a new teacher. I was only beginning my journey of teaching for the last 2 months, however, I already felt appreciated, which ignites more the burning passion I have for my chosen profession. The afternoon program was hosted by the two officers of the student council, beginning with a lively performance by the school’s band called “Euphoria” then followed by an impressive act of a grade 12 student, John Allen N. Valenzuela with his informative but hilarious skit. Games also occurred in the program then ended with a surprising raffle gift for the teachers. A heartfelt regard was made by the principal of the school as he commends the efforts and passion exerted by the faculty and staffs. He said that many are called with this vocation but few are chosen to long-lived with teaching minds and touching hearts journey for the youth.
