Peripheral Nervous System
Sends signals to your
peripheral nervous system’s
nerves.
Serves as your touch, pain,
itch, and taste receptors.
Consists of the Spinal Cord,
and the Brain.
The peripheral is a bunch of
nerves that goes around your
body.

Brain
(Skill issue)
Given what you have learned about brain structure and
function, how might an individual lose their sight or their
hearing but not have direct damage to their eyes or ears?
An individual could lose their sight or hearing due to neurological
conditions like cortical blindness, where the brain's visual processing
centers are affected, or auditory neuropathy, disrupting the transmission of
sound signals from the inner ear to the brain, without any direct damage
to the eyes or ears.
Explain how a patient’s neurological symptoms may give
an indication of where in the brain an injury occurred.
Neurological symptoms can indicate the location of a brain injury: motor
issues suggest damage in the motor cortex, speech problems hint at areas like
Broca's or Wernicke's, visual disturbances point to the occipital lobe, and
changes in personality or behavior indicate frontal lobe damage.
