In pairs, role-play a conversation: student A is ordering
office supplies from student B. Use the vocabulary you
have seen in unit 4. You must use the information in
green.
Example:
A: Hello, Joana. It’s Alison from Johnson & Johnson. I tried to order
online, but I’m afraid that your website is down at the moment. I’d
like to order some office supplies, please.
B: Yes, I’m sorry about that. What exactly do you need?
A: Firstly, we need writing pads.
B: What quantity do you need?
A: About a hundred (100).
B: OK, we´ll send you 10 packets.
A: What is the price per unit?
B: It’s 5 pounds per packet, so that’s 50 pence per pad.
A: Good. Have you got high-quality staples? The ones in the office
break all the time.
B: Yes, we’ve got some very nice high-quality staples – our customers
love them.
A: I’ll take 10 boxes of staples. Oh, and we are running low on
highlighters and envelopes.
B: How many would you like of each?
A: Three packets of yellow highlighters and 20 packets of small
envelopes.
B: Anything else?
A: No, that’s all for now.
B: OK . we’ll get your order to you as soon as possible.
