CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS INTRODUCTION This aims to explore the benefits of artistic abilities among senior high school students; and to also understand the impact and effects of the benefits of their artistic abilities to them. This chapter will discuss the analysis and interpretation of the data that the researchers had gathered during their face-to-face interview with semi-structured interview approach. The data and outcome of this data gathering will be interpreted and reviewing themes using thematic analysis. I also started dancing because I enjoyed it.” Participant 12, “When I was in elementary school, I was really interested in music videos with musicians, so I became interested in music. I even bought an instrument and whenever I see music videos and their teasers or posters, I try to imitate the layout, which is how I discovered that I have that talent.” Participant 4, “Even when I was young, I already loved singing.” Participant 9, “I discovered this when I was young, and it just became a hobby of mine to randomly draw on any paper I could find.” Participant 6, “When I was in elementary school, I loved watching anime so I started drawing my favorite anime characters. This helped me improve my drawing skills. Singing is just a hobby for me.” Participant 10, “I discover my artistic abilities when I'm trying to draw and watching videos,” Participant 2, “I was influenced by my friends Code 2: Influence of peers, family and social who played live performances, which made environment on artistic interests me engage in music.” Participant 13, “I discovered them when I was watching my uncle doing his works, so with my little curious mind, I tried to do sketch, since then I kept doing more artworks.” Participant 14, “I discovered my Artistic Abilities I don't really know like since we are Filipinos we love like using karaoke sa like family bonding and all that and like my family was a family of dancers my mom dances and my sister dances so like i can do just pick it up from them i guess” Participant 3, “I don't really know how, but I Code 3: : Influence of media and pop culture on suddenly realized that I can do it. I practiced it artistic interests until it became a part of my life.” Participant 11, “When I was drawing the Code 4: Organic realization of artistic talents pictures i found on pinterest I was able to copy the figure but not every details” Participant 8, “Actually, I was forced to dance Code 5: Unintentional discovery of artistic at first because there was an audition and I abilities through external pressure didn't know I could dance. The coach pushed me to dance and luckily, I passed. I always do it until it enhances and improves my abilities.” Participant 6, “To enhance my skills further, I watched various drawing tutorials on YouTube and continued to practice”. Participant 8, “Sometimes, I create my own dance routines. I attend workshops and watch dance videos on TikTok and YouTube to learn new moves. Sometimes, I post my own dance videos on TikTok and enhance my skills during competitions.” Participant 5 “I practice a lot well sometimes when i was bored i watch drawing tutorials online using tiktok or YouTube” Participant 10, “I enhance my abilities by watching guides on social medias” Code 2: Utilizing online resources Participant 7, “I will continue to pursue my Code 3: Pursuing interests and hobbies interests and hobbies.” Participant 14, “To enhance my Artistic Abilities’ I joined different clubs and organization to like develop my skills like i joined a dance troupe, a choir and a performing arts club until now yeah.” Participant 9,” Since it became a hobby of mine, I've done things to maintain my artistic ability. Participant 2, “The benefits of my abilities are many, including the ability to express myself through music and to help schools in need of a live band”. Participant 9, “It relieves my stress, and I can use it for academic purposes when teachers ask for artrelated assignments.” Participant 12, “I also use it for my academics, especially when we have groupings that need instruments. I always volunteer to act as such.” Participant 4, “As it not only brings joy to my Code 2: Self-expression and confidence life but also helps me express myself”. It also helps me maintain physical fitness.” Participant 5, “One of the advantages of digital Code 5: Cost-effective and easy to use art is that it's easy to make corrections and there's no need to pay for art supplies like pencils, erasers, rulers, and so on. There's also no need for an expensive computer or software; just a tablet and your fingertips, and you can create digital art”. Participant 6, “Drawing is not just a hobby for me; it is a source of happiness and creativity that has taught me many valuable lessons”. Socially, now I can relate more to my classmates who are mostly artists, both digital and traditional, so we can understand each other better, especially when talking about art.” Participant 2, “In social situations, my abilities affect me positively because I can connect a way to connect with others with others who play the same instruments, and emotionally, playing music helps me relieve stress.” Participant 8, “Dancing affects me emotionally and socially. During competitions, I meet new people, but I also feel tired and defeated when I don't win.” Participant 9, “For my social and emotional well-being, like I mentioned earlier, it's a stress reliever for me. I can also collaborate with people who are also inclined towards arts that know and are close to.” Participant 11, “Well, it test how long my patience can last and it became my stress reliever when i was having a bad day,” Participant 12, “I don't really have an idea of exactly how it benefits me socially, but I think it helps me gain more friends because they can use me. It's true because people tend to approach you if they know you can be useful to them.” Participant 3, “Knowing that my confidence and positive energy will increase as I showcase my talent motivates me to continue striving for more” Participant 5, “It helps me to boost my confidence and it makes me feel Code 2: Artistic abilities as a confidence booster and a way to discover more art styles more engage and resilient” Participant 10, “This benefits influence me to do more arts and discover some more art styles” Participant 4, “It helps me express my Code 3: Artistic abilities as a means of self- emotions towards people. Participant 2, “Through live performances, I am able to showcase my creativity and demonstrate my passion for music. Listening to music also plays a crucial role in my Code 2: Live performances development as a musician, helping me improve my performance and become a better artist”. Participant 3, “I am determined to participate Code 3: Practice and perfection and practice until I perfect it”. Participant 4, “Through music, we can relate to Code 4: Encouraging others to sing each other and connect on a deeper level. I love singing on karaoke, as it encourages others to join in and sing along, creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere”. Participant 5, “I enjoy sharing my artworks Code 5: Sharing artworks online and offline online through platforms like Face book, Instagram, and Twitter, or simply showing them to my friends, family, and relatives”. Participant 6, “I enjoy sharing my drawing style Code 6: Introducing drawing style and giving with others and providing advice on how to advice become an artist. Being an artist is a fun and rewarding experience that allows you to express your creativity and imagination. With practice and learning, anyone can become a better artist and create more interesting works”. Participant 7, “I will explain to others what art Code 7: Explaining art and its benefits is and encourage them to try it. I will show them the benefits I have gained and how I express myself through it, in hopes of inspiring them to pursue the arts”. Participant 8 “encourage others to audition Code 8: Encouraging participation in dance and join dance groups in school or outside of groups school. Sometimes, I invite others to attend dance classes with me.” Participant 9, “I show other people my art, and Code 9: Setting mood through art and I encourage them to try it out because it sets encouraging others to try my mood. Maybe it can do the same for them”. Participant 10, “Showing them one of my Code 10: Influencing others to create through works that can influence them to make one of showcasing own work their own.” Participant 11, “Showing them the behind the Code 11: Teaching drawing techniques and scenes on how I draw teaching them tips on encouraging progress how to draw more efficiently and encouraging them to continue their progress and it's ok to make mistake because it's where we learn on how to draw more accurately and to showcase our thoughts thru arts, That's all.” Participant 12, “I simply show them my work, Code 12: Showing own work and encouraging and if I know they're interested, I encourage pursuit of arts them to pursue those things, especially in the arts, because it's a waste if they don't pursue it. I also encourage them to do well by telling them about my journey in discovering my artistic abilities. That's it.” Participant 13 “can showcase it by sharing the Code 13: Sharing past artworks and artworks I did from the past years and maybe, encouraging engagement in arts encourage them to be connected or engage in arts. We all have artistic abilities; some of them just need a push and encouragement.” Participant 14, “I joined like clubs and Code 14: Performing in clubs/organizations to organizations. As Informant 1 stated that “I paint and I draw traditional arts”. Informant 2 said “playing instruments like bass guitar, acoustic guitar and piano”. Informant 3 stated “I can dance, direct films and can do edits”. As Informant 4 says that “Singing”. As Informant 5 stated that “I can draw both traditionally and digitally but I'm more focused on traditional arts nowadays”. Informant 6 said “Traditional Arts, singing, and dancing”. Informant 7 stated that “Dancing, theatre, and traditional arts”. Informant 8 stated it was “Dancing”. Informant 9 stated “sketching”. Informant 10 says that “designs and drawings” are its artistic expression, Informant 11 stated that “being able to copy but not entirely the images that I see or imagine”. Informant 12 stated that “Music and basic layouting” are their artistic expression. Informant 13 says “drawing, painting, and other creative pursuits”. Informant 14 stated that “singing, dancing, acting, and playing the ukulele” are their artistic expression. Overall, it shows that some of the participants have their own artistic expression and some of them can have multiple artistic expressions in different art fields. Theme 8: Artistic abilities can facilitate self-expression and identity formation EXPLANATION ABOUT THE THEME… RAW DATA FINAL CODE Participant 5, “By sharing my artworks online Code 1: Self-expression through drawing and like face book, Instagram, and twitter or by just artwork simply showing my artworks to my friends, families, and relatives” Participant 6, “I like to showcase my creativity to others by introducing my drawing style to them and giving them advice on how to become an artist. I believe that being an artist is fun because it allows you to express your creativity and imagination. By practicing and learning new things, you can become better at drawing and create more interesting works.” Participant 9, “My artistic abilities are only basic, like sketching. I show other people my art, and I encourage them to try it out because it sets my mood. Maybe it can do the same for them.” Participant 10, “My artistic Abilities are designs and drawings, by showing them one of my works that can influence them to make one of their own”, Participant 13, “With this abilities, I was able to express what I feel through art and being able to show what's in my mind. Artistic abilities isn't just about being artistic, it is a way of you to show how free you are to express one's thought, an ability that can be "you".” Participant 14, “So the benefits of my artistic Abilities to me personally like artistic abilities is a form of art of course so like it is a form of self expression and like arts in general is for me its very healing and like its yeah a comfort space and like a space for growth,” Participant 1, “I enjoy painting and drawing in Code 2: Self-expression through singing, a traditional manner. I don’t really brag about dancing and music performance my artistic abilities. Right now, I'm more focused on physical activities like singing and dancing.” Participant 2, “My artistic abilities include playing instruments such as bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and piano. The benefits of my abilities are that I can express myself through music and help schools that need a band to perform live.” Participant 4,”singing, It helps me express my emotions towards people. It also makes it easier for me to communicate with others because we can relate through music.” Participant 8, “I can dance, but only the ones I Code 3: Self-expression through dancing discovered I can do. Dancing allows me to socialize with other people, especially during competitions with other schools. It also helps me maintain physical fitness.” Participant 7, “I will explain to others what art Code 4: Encouraging others through art is and encourage them to try it. I will show performance them the benefits I have gained and how I express myself through it, in hopes of inspiring them to pursue the arts.” Participant 3, “I will participate and practice Code 5: Self-expression through participation in until I perfect it.” Participant 12, “Of course, it's every activity not just a pastime. I also use it for my academics, especially when we have groupings that need instruments. I always volunteer to act as such. In terms of layouting, we had a film and I presented the film promotion poster because I wanted to enhance and use it as a training ground to improve my abilities.” Participant 11, “By showing them the behind Code 6: Sharing skills and behind the scenes of the scenes on how i draw teaching them tips artistic abilities on how to draw more efficiently and encouraging them to continue their progress and it's ok to make mistake because it's where we learn on how to draw more accurately and to showcase our thoughts thru arts, That's all” OVERALL FINDINGS AND EXPLANATION… Conclusion In conclusion, the results show that the participants' artistic abilities have benefits for them and have a positive impact on their social and emotional well-being. The results also show how these participants discover and enhance their artistic abilities. There are relevant studies for determining the benefits of artistic abilities. This study is an extension for further discussion and is informative. The knowledge that a researcher has worked on and analyzed. As a result of this study, Participants shared the positive impact of their artistic abilities. A semi-structured interview about the narrative research approach of this study that was conveyed to the researchers. A space for participants to discuss the positive effects of having artistic abilities. Summary This study aims to analyze the benefits of artistic abilities among senior high school students of GFMINHS. Students shared the benefits of their artistic abilities and how these benefits can affect them. The researcher found that these benefits have a positive impact on the social and emotional well-being of the students. And also students shared the discovery of their artistic abilities and their ways of showcasing their creativity to engage others into arts. The researcher will focus attention on the positive effects of artistic abilities. Specifically, the study seeks answers to the following questions: 1. What impact do Artistic Abilities have on the social and emotional well-being of Senior High School students? 2. What are the Benefits of Artistic Ability among Senior High School Students? This study was conducted in the school of Governor Ferrer Memorial Integrated National High School (GFMINHS) with total of (14) selected respondents in each strand (STEM, ABM, HUMSS, Arts and Design). The method that was used in this study is the narrative approach. The researchers will use a semi-structured interview approach, the researchers wants to ensure that every interview is conducted with the exact same queries asked in the exact same order. This can lessen confirmation bias and/or unconscious bias in interviews to get the perception of the participants on the benefits of artistic abilities. Eidetic Insight The students’ shared experiences demonstrate the benefits of their artistic abilities and how they influence their lives. Students' experiences with their artistic abilities were incredibly difficult. The study's current findings shed light on various challenges that participants faced, including educational background and how to assess the struggles of the artistic talent of seniors in high school. The relevant literature on senior high school students' artistic talent increased the most emergent themes. The discovered experiences suggest that these benefits have a positive impact on the students' social and emotional well-being. Recommendations This study presents exploring the Benefits of Artistic Abilities among Senior High School Students. Based on the studies made, the following recommendations are given by the researchers: 1. To parents, this research is about exploring the benefits of having artistic abilities among senior high school students. With this, let your children discover some things and give support to their artistic abilities. 2. To students, getting involved in school activities may develop and improve artistic abilities. 3. To teachers, it is to help students by giving some fun art related activities that may boost and discover their abilities in art. 4. Be an Inspiration: make everyone inspire by showing them your work or performance and encourage them to do what they love. 5. Be humble: at all times, don’t brag or be arrogant to others. Stay humble and help others with their artistic abilities. 6. Don’t compare: Never discourage because your artistic abilities are not improving compared to others. Let others be your motivation to improve. 7. Just practice: practicing the thing you like can improve your artistic abilities. Also, watching tips may help to improve your artistic abilities. 8. Just keep doing: continuing doing the thing you love is also improving your artistic abilities. 9. Everything takes time: Don’t rush; improving your artistic abilities takes time. Just be motivated and practice
