• EXPLANATION:
It was a dark night and the house of montresor and furtunato was
going with him deep in the house tunnel to check the Amontillado and
its price. But in reality the furtunato was unaware about the revenge.
Furtunato was drunk and he was going with montresor in a charming
situation. It was too cold and the place was the down side of the
palazzo so furtunato started coughing very intensively ugh! ugh! --ugh! ugh! ugh! --- ugh! ugh! ugh! ---- ugh! ugh! ugh! --- ugh! ugh!
ugh!... so montresor told him let us go back I will ask from Luchesi so
the furtunato said in drowned voice no he does not have enough
information about Amontillado. But the main point here the narrator
explains about the story that the montresor was giving him a kind of
soft hand and making him fool to go with him and take the intensive
revenge from him. The montresor began to polish his words, no
brother we should go back your health is very important for me and
you will get cold if we don’t go back.
• STATEMENT:

• EXPLANATION:
In this the narrator is talking about the montresor’s dressing and his
codes relating to his family symbols, like in old time every person was
simply recognized by seeing his/her dressing. The golden human foot
on a blue background is Montresor's family coat of arms. It is
essentially a description of the family crest. The foot crushing the
serpent represents Montresor's desire for revenge, with the serpent
symbolizing Fortunato. Montresor is seeking to avenge this perceived
injury. The imagery of the serpent biting the heel emphasizes the idea
of betrayal or harm done to Montresor. And then he said in a low voice
that "No one harms me unpunished," serves as Montresor's motto. It
underscores his determination to seek revenge against Fortunato.
• STATEMENT:
• Then you are not of the brother hood.

• EXPLANATION:
They were going in that small way under the palazzo so the Furtunato
give a sign to the Montresor but he did not get the sign so the
Furtunato said to him that, you are not of the brother hood. In this
passage the narrator has explained about the different signs that were
used in the past, like there were different creeds of people and scats
and they were using signs to understand each other’s words and talks
between their enemies. But at that time the Montresor changed the
topic and give an old wine of bottle to the Furtunato and laughed in a
loud voice.
