Small Team Challenge
In your small Team, respond to Parts 1 & 2 below. After completing your Team’s response, please
upload your case write-up to the Turnitin link provided on Canvas/Assignments for the Melissa
Richardson Team Challenge. Case write-ups must be submitted by the end of the class period. The
BEST case write-up (determined by Professor McKay) will be given 2 bonus points on the final exam (2
points for each Team member of the winning Team). One runner-up Team will receive 1 bonus point
on the final.
Part 1: How would each of the Week 9 contributors (Simon Sinek, Coach K, Margaret Heffernan, and
Williams/Mihaylo) interpret Melissa Richardson’s situation? Using the authors’ perspective, write a
short paragraph that captures how each author would describe the situation facing Melissa Richardson.
(1-paragraph per speaker/article). Work quickly on this. Parts 1 is essential and must be strong in order
to win.
Part 2: Using your own words, create a list of problem statements that best describe Melissa
Richardson’s challenges. Follow up with each problem statement, offer advice in bullet points from one
or more of this week’s authors. Advice and solutions should give clear evidence that you understand the
author’s ideas. Not all speakers/authors need to have advice for each problem identified.
