Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition This guide provides examples of documenting material according to the Chicago Manual of Style. The Chicago style of documentation is used in some humanities and social sciences disciplines, including History, Classics and Anthropology. Instead of in-text citations, the Chicago style uses footnotes 1 or endnotes 2 and a Bibliography which lists all of the cited references at the end of the document. The notes and bibliographic citations are not formatted the same, and both are required. Copies of The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed. are available at Z253 .U69 2017 and online at http://bit.ly/umcmos.
