TRAVELLING Many Moscow citizens prefer to spend their vacations away from home. Nowadays lots of people can afford going abroad for holidays. My parents are not an exception. They travel as much as they can and sometimes I am able to travel with them. I am only 14, but I’ve already been to more then 15 countries, 3 continents and swam in tree oceans. Do not worry, Arctic Ocean is not on the list. Types of transport I used during travelling 1. Plane. The longest flight I had lasted for 13 hours. It was a flight to Los Angeles. 2. Train. I took a train to Ukraine once. 3. Van. The longest van journey was across the East coast of USA. It was 4500 km long. There were 6 of us in the van. 4. Bus. I traveled by buses in Sri Lanka. It was so exciting! 5. Coach. I tried guided coach tours in Turkey and Egypt. It is rather comfortable, but not very impressive. 6. Car. I was travelling by car in Spain. It is the best way to visit all historical places and attractions in Europe. 7. Ferry. I used ferry in Thailand to get to the amazing island Koh Lanta. 8. Bike. I rent bikes in several countries to explore national parks, ancient cities and picturesque landscapes. Accommodation 1. Hotels. Sounds boring. Is there anybody who never stayed at a hotel? I do not think so. I tried different hotels: gigantic 5 stars buildings on the main streets of the cities, amazing bungalows near the ocean, road motels near the highway and quiet small hotels in the countryside. 2. Guest houses. That’s small hotels, very popular in Asia, usually run by one family. They often offer for tourists three/four rooms in their own house with free home made breakfast. 3. Rented houses. Rather popular and budget accommodation for big groups of travelers. I tried it in USA. That’s my favorite type, unique one, when you can feel yourself local. The owners of the houses usually leave quit a good list of tips with small talks points of interest. 4. Tent. Do not be surprised. Tents are the best accommodation for hiking trips. My favorite journey I visited USA first time 2 years ago. It was unforgettable. The trip was across California and Nevada states and included fantastic museums, national parks, charming cities, historic and word-famous places. Look at these pictures, aren’t they amazing? I envy myself sometimes…
