Hooked
Hooked is about a Indian girl who is passionate about golf. She is one of
the top players. However, she has never taken one golf lesson before. A
normal trip with her dad changes everything when she is approached by a
man whom she thought was creepy as she had noticed him staring at her.
But instead he offers her a place on the Boy’s golf team. After some
hesitation Fred finally agrees and starts the next day. Her dad is proud of
her but she wishes to not let her mum know as she knows her mum won’t
be happy because she doesn't care what her daughter does and only
wants her to work. When Fred first starts on the team she is given glares by
many as one of their teammates was kicked off the team so she could join.
The person who hated her most was Ryan as it was his best friend who
was kicked off the team. Fred is teased because she is Indian. The boys
challenge her by asking her to hit a shot. She does this and surprises many
of the boys which try their best to hide their reaction. However, Fred
continues to be teased by Seth (Ryan’s best friend) who constantly mocks
her. Fred attends her first tournament ever which she wins in. Over time,
Ryan stops holding a grudge against Fred and instead tries to become
friends with Fred. Fred does not accept his friendship at first. Seth tells
Ryan to come and watch him do something funny, he fills Fred’s golf bag
with heavy bricks where she would carry it around all day. Ryan feels bad
and tries to persuade Seth to not to do but fails to but instead of removing
the bricks he leaves them. Fred ends up carrying the bricks around all day
until she leaves her back alone, and that's when Ryan takes the bricks out
but gets caught by Fred where he explains that he is very sorry. Gradually
both Fred and Ryan start falling for each other but its is hard because Seth
is Ryan’s best friend. Ryan discovers that his best friend has changed a lot
because of the things he has done such as the brick incident, putting extra
golf clubs in Fred’s bag which gets her disqualified from the tournament
and trying to scare Fred by trying to run her over. Seth continues to think
what he is doing is right. Ryan always comes to Fred’s rescue but when
Seth tried to hurt Fred when he car broke down, Ryan beats him up.
However, Seth is stuck somewhere and just before they leave he begs for
them to not leave him there. Ryan and Fred both agree to help him after
some times. Ryan and Fred beccome a couple and continue on their golf
career and Ryan decides to not leave the state which he was originally
supposed to do.
