Gaspar Dias will be held on Sunday, 10th September, 2023 at 10.30 a.m. at the
Club’s premises, Miramar, Panaji Goa, to transact the following business: AGENDA
1.To read the Notice convening the meeting.
2.To confirm and approve the minutes of the last Annual General Body Meeting
held on 18th September, 2022.

4.To consider and adopt the audited Statement of Accounts, Annual Report and

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members,
Warm greetings to all esteemed members.
I am filled with emotions as I sit to pen down this final address of my two terms as a
President of your club.
It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to serve at the helm of this prestigious
club for two consecutive terms and I must thank you all from the bottom of my heart for
the trust and confidence that you all reposed in my team and me during the past 6 years.
During this period, we strived to give our time, energy, and passion to enhance the
infrastructure, stature and membership engagement at the club and we are truly happy
to see the progress that we have achieved on all these fronts.
We had many challenges to overcome – but, the covid pandemic was one challenge
that was hard on all of us. By the grace of God and blessings from all of you, we weathered
this challenge and came out unscathed.
Over the past year, we have tried our best as a
team to catch up on the lost time due to covid and
speed up many of the unfinished tasks which were
on our agenda. I am happy to say that we have
accomplished most of them.
I have listed below the upgradation of facilities
and Events conducted over the last 1 year as
well as those undertaken during my two terms.
While investment in club infrastructure,
providing the highest level of services to
members, and organizing of membership
engagement programs was a priority
during our two terms in office. While
doing so, we always kept a very close
eye on the Club's financials.

Although covid was a dampener and we lost almost a year of revenue on most of our
income streams, we made sure through focused efforts post covid to make good these
losses. I am happy and proud to say that as we complete our term, we are handing over
a strong balance sheet with a cash balance exceeding Rs. 5 crores. I am sure this healthy
balance sheet will enable the incoming team to start on a strong foundation, build on the
same, and take the club to greater heights.
I am at a loss for words in expressing my gratitude to each one of you for the confidence
you showed in me and my team as well as the support you provided to us whenever
called for. I would also like to thank my Secretary Shri Edwin Menezes, Managing
Committee, Chairman of the General Assembly, various task committees, and the staff of
Club Tennis De Gaspar Dias, all of whom have worked hand-in-hand to make sure we
succeeded in achieving our targets and delivering on the vision we promised you all six
years ago when I took over as the President.
As I hand over the baton to the new committee which takes over in September 2023,
I wish them continued success and assure them of my wholehearted cooperation in
taking the club to greater heights in the years to come.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE TEAM FROM 2017-2020
INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS: 1) We covered the terraces of ‘A’ building & set up a “Spa Saloon” for members and an
activity hall exclusive for members use.
2) All 18 residential rooms were renovated with modern amenities.
3) We constructed a new badminton court and “Sala de Gaspar” hall
(500 pax capacity) which added huge revenues to the club and also provided facilities
to members.
4) The front façade of the club was renovated and so was “The Solario Hall”
5) We renovated the lobby with a fresh look reception and replaced the flooring of the
lobby, Fiesta, Estela halls with new granite flooring.
6) A 300kg/day bio-digester was installed within the premises to handle our wet waste.
7) The club elevators were given fresh interiors.
8) The kid’s area was renovated with new multi-facility play equipment with artificial lawns.
9) We have renovated the lounge area at the club with the history of the club along the wall.
10) We resurfaced the tennis courts with a synthetic coat.
11) We installed 2 new DG sets of 250 kva each to give us backup during power failures.
12) We added the “Futsal Court” as an added recreational sports facility for our members.
13) New modern gymnasium equipments were installed with facilities of private trainers
exclusively for our members.
14) We heated the swimming pool making it Goa’s only outdoor public swimming pool to
be heated.
15) The pathway to the ‘B’ wing and the Swimming Pool Deck were replaced with granite
giving it a new look.
16) We installed a 127 kw grid-connected solar plant with a net-metering system in our
efforts to make the club environment-friendly and reduce carbon footprint as well as
save club expenditure on power bills.
17) We renovated the washrooms of the “Sala de Gaspar”.

18) We installed RFID barriers and issued RFID access cards to members for privacy
and access.
19) We are soon setting up pickle ball courts on the ‘B’ wing terrace.
20) We are soon installing elevator in the ‘B’ wing.
SPORTS: 1) We have been regularly conducting our annual “Gadre Gaspar Dias Tennis Tournament”
which has been one of the most looked-for tournaments by tennis lovers.
2) We have been regularly co-conducting the annual “All India Bridge Tournament” in
association with Goa Bridge Association.
3) We have organised “The PSB Billiards and Snooker Tournament” in association with
the Billiards Association of Goa.
4) We have actively organised coaching camps for swimming, table tennis and
badminton for our members.
MEMBER ENGAGEMENTS: 1) We started the fortnightly “Housie” at the club.
2) We have been regularly updating our members through whatsapp and emails.
3) We have been organising our annual “Diwali Dhamaka” programme for members.
4) The Children's Day activities at the club have become a special attraction for all
member's kids.
5) We have been organising our annual “Christmas Day Party” which is well attended.
6) Our New Years Eve members party “Noite de Gaspar Dias” has earned status as an
elite venue for bringing in the new year with lots of member participation.
7) This year we hosted a “Christmas Market” which was open for 3 days with stalls
selling various products as well as food and entertainment.
8) "Karaoke Thursdays" is well-attended event by members and guests alike who
indulge in a musical evening.
9) “Throwback Fridays” with live band attendance has been a well-attended event at
the club.
10) “The Lazy Sunday Brunch” is a regular monthly feature and is well attended by the
members.

THE DESK OF HON. SECRETARY
Dear Members,
Warm Greetings to you all !
It’s been a great journey from the time I took over as secretary of this club in 2020 and
now the time has come to hand over as I complete my three-year term as Secretary
of this great and prestigious Club.
As I look back, I must say that I have enjoyed every day of my term interacting with
members, guests, our staff and the members of the managing committee. We managed
to achieve a lot during our term despite the lockdown and slowdown due to the covid
pandemic.
Our president, Mr. Rajesh Khaunte had a long-term vision to upgrade the facilities
and infrastructure of the club and to build and hand over a sizeable corpus fund so that
the new team can take forward the vision. A lot was done
and I think we have to applaud him for his relentless
efforts to achieve so much in such a short period of time.
Let me first speak about some of our key events
and activities that we hosted in the last year.
A more detailed summary of all the events
and activities are mentioned in the Event
Diary at the end of my report.
On the sports front, we hosted the All India
Bridge Tournament” in association with,
The Goa Bridge Association, which was
held from 22nd July 2022 to 24th
July 2022. The tournament received
tremendous participation and was a big success.

The Club also organised the All Goa State Ranking Tennis Tournament 2023,
“ Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023” which was held in association with All Goa State Tennis
Association, from 26th January 2023 to 5th February 2023. We had very good players
participating from all over the country with a total of 365 entries. We had some really
exciting matches which were well attended.
On the cultural front we hosted our very popular event, “Diwali Dhamaka” on 22nd October
2022 which was well attended.
This year we introduced a “Christmas Market ” for the first time ever. The market was held
on 16th December, 2022 over 3 days. There were totally 22 stalls offering various shopping
items and 5 food stalls. We had live music on all the days.
We also hosted our regular and popular “Children’s Christmas Party” on 17th December
2022. We had games and exciting activities for the kids. A total of 158 children attended
the party.
We had our grand and prestigious New Year’s Eve party, “Noite de Gaspar Dias” on 31st
December, 2022. A total of 294 members and their guests were entertained to some
pulsating music by “Purple Rain”. There was also a lavish buffet spread catered by
M/s Catpro. There were a lot of spot prizes given away. We would like to thank our well
wishers and sponsors for supporting the event.
Finally, we hosted, “ Sao Joao” on 24th June, 2023 in Brasserie with live music and a
lavish buffet by the pool.
On the social front, we teamed up with Disha Charitable Trust as part of the Club’s
charitable cause to host the annual All Goa Drawing and Painting Competition for all
the Specially- Abled children from various schools across Goa on 1st October, 2022.
We also hosted the Children’s day on 14th November, 2022 which was a big success.
A total of 109 students attended including some children from the local orphange,
“ NGO UDANT.”
We have also continued with our regular cultural and musical events for members are
their guests. The popular retro musical nights “Throwback Friday” has received a great
response from our members and guests. “ The lazy Sunday Brunch” and the “ Karaoke
Thursday” are being hosted every month and are gradually getting a good turnout.
Our Alternate Friday “Housie nights ” has become very popular with excellent turnouts.
We also have Zumba” and “Fitness Classes” being held regularly.
As far as infrastructure is concerned, a lot of up gradations were carried out in the last year :
a. The swimming Pool is now provided with a Heat Pump which keeps the water warm
and comfortable especially during the winter.

b. All the pathways and the deck area around B-wing have been provided with a flamed
granite flooring giving it a refreshing look.
c. A Multiple Solar Rooftop of 127Kwp Grid Connected Solar PV Plant with Net Metering
has been installed resulting in tremendous saving of power consumption.
d. The washrooms and changing rooms at Sala de Gaspar have been renovated with high
standard specifications.
Currently, we are in the process of providing two covered Pickle ball courts in the B wing at
the terrace level and are also providing an Otis elevator for easy access to all the floors.
We also have plans to renovate all our halls to give them a classy feel.
I would like to thank the President, Treasurer and all the members of the managing committee
for their support and contribution. I would like to acknowledge the efforts put in by all the
chairpersons and members of our sub-committees to ensure that our members are always
provided with the best facilities.
I would like to praise our dynamic GM, Frank Mark Fernandes and his team and all our staff
members for their efforts to always provide best services to our members.
And finally, I thank all our members for your love, support and confidence placed in us and
for using the club’s facilities and attending all our events.

EVENT DIARY
SPORTS:
The “All India Bridge Tournament” was organised by our club in association with “The Goa
Bridge Association” which was held from 22nd July 2022 to 24th July 2022. The
tournament was a grand success with a large participation of players from all over the
country. Chief guests included Mrs. Hede and Mr. Sunil Naik.
The Club also organised the All Goa State Ranking Tennis Tournament 2023, “Gadre
Gaspar Dias Open 2023” which was held in association with, the “All Goa State Tennis
Association” from 26th January 2023 – 5th February 2023. This tournament was
conducted in various categories and we received an overwhelming response of 365
entries with players participating from different parts of the country. The matches were
well attended by our members and guests.
CLUB’S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMITMENTS:
Disha Charitable Trust in association with our Club organised the Annual All Goa Drawing
and Painting Competition for all the specially- abled children who participated from various
schools from all over Goa. The competiton was held on 1st October, 2022 and was well
attended.
Children’s day was organised by our club on 14th November, 2022. A total of 109 children
were in attendance which included children of our club members, their guests, and children
from a local orphanage “NGO UDANT”. The entire event was organised free of cost and
received a fantastic response.
CLUB’S SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:
“Throwback Friday” a night of live retro music has received a fabulous response from the
members and their guests.
“The Lazy Sunday Brunch” and the “ Karaoke Thursday” are organised every month for
members and member’s guests. Both these events are being well attended by members
and their guests.
“Housie nights” are being held every alternate Friday and the attendance is very
encouraging.
“Zumba” and “Fitness Classes” are being conducted for kids and ladies by Mr. Sarvesh
Murgaonkar in the multi-purpose hall regularly..
EVENTS AND PARTIES:
“Diwali Dhamaka” was organised on 22nd October 2022. A total of 81 members and their
guests attended this Diwali party.

“Christmas Market ” was hosted for the first time in the history of the Club from 16th
December, 2023 over 3 days. There were a total of 27 stalls, of which 5 were food stalls.
The event saw the likes of start-up companies as well as small and upcoming
entrepreneurs display their merchandise and wares. There was live music and game
stalls which received a good response.
Annual “Children’s Christmas Party” was organised on 17th December 2022. There were
a total of 158 children in attendance. The event included Santa Claus distributing sweets
and hosting games, live counters of candy floss and popcorns. There were lots of spot
prizes, music and a magic show, gifts and snack boxes and two mascots to entertain the
youngsters.
“Noite de Gaspar Dias” New Year’s Eve party was organised on 31st December, 2022. A
total of 294 pax were in attendance. The prominent live band “Purple Rain” kept guests
entertained and the lavish buffet spread was catered by M/S Catpro.
“Sao Joao “was organised on 24th June 2023, by the poolside with live music by “ Omar
and Errol” along with a variety of cocktails and mocktails and a lavish buffet spread by
Brasserie. The party was a huge success.
CLUB’S INNOVATIONS:
A new swimming pool heat pump has been installed to provide members with controlled
temperature water especially during the winter season.
B-wing pathways and the deck area have been given a new face lift with new flamed
granite flooring.
A Multiple Solar Rooftop, 127Kwp Grid Connected Solar PV Plant with Net Metering has
been installed in the Club’s efforts to be environmentally friendly with a view to cut down
on carbon footprints.
The washrooms at Sala de Gaspar and changing rooms have been renovated with high
class specifications.
The Futsal court has been taken over as an additional gaming area.
PROPOSED PLANS:
Construction of two covered Pickle ball courts in the B-wing are underway.
Events halls including the multi- purpose hall will be renovated to give them a classy look.
Otis elevator for 6 persons at B – wing is being installed to provide easy access to all the
floors.

Report of the Auditors to the members of
CLUBE TENNIS DE GASPAR DIAS,
Miramar - Goa on the accounts for the year ended
31st March 2023
1. We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of CLUBE TENNIS DE GASPAR DIAS,
Miramar – Goa (Regd. No. 51/Goa/1980) as on 31st March, 2023 and also the Income
and Expenditure Account of the club for the year ended on that date, including notes to
accounts and significant accounting policies annexed thereto.
2. MANAGEMENT’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL STATEMENTS:
Club’s Management is responsible for the preparation and presentation of these financial
statements that give a true and fair view of the financial position and the financial
performance of the club in accordance with the accounting principles generally accepted
in India. This responsibility includes the design, implementation and maintenance of
internal controls relevant to the preparation and presentation of financial statements
that give a true and fair view and are free from material misstatements, whether due to
fraud or error.
3. AUDITOR’S RESPONSIBILITY:
Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.
We conducted our audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in India.
Those standards require that we comply with ethical requirements and plan and perform
the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free
of material misstatements. An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit
evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. The procedures
selected depend on the auditor’s judgment, including the assessment of the risks of
material misstatement of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error.
In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal control, relevant to the
club’s preparation and fair presentation of the financial statements in order to design audit
procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances. An audit also includes evaluating
the appropriateness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of the accounting
estimates made by management, as well as evaluating the overall presentation of the
financial statements. We believe that our audit provides a reasonable basis for our opinion.
4. AUDITOR’S OPINION
We report that:
a. We have obtained all the information and explanations , which to the best of our
knowledge and belief were necessary for the purposes of our audit ;
b. In our opinion, proper books of account as required by law have been kept by the club,
so far as appears from our examination of those books ;
c. The Balance Sheet and the Income and Expenditure Account dealt with by this report
are in agreement with the books of account;
d. In our opinion , the Balance Sheet and the Income and Expenditure Account dealt with
by this report comply with the applicable Accounting Standards;

e. In our opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations
given to us, the said accounts together with statement on Significant Accounting
Policies and the other notes thereon, give the information required by The Societies
Registration Act, 1860 in the manner so required and give a true and fair view in
conformity with the accounting principles generally accepted in India :
i) In the case of the Balance Sheet, of the state of affairs of the club as at 31st March,
2023; and
ii) In the case of the Income and Expenditure Account, of the surplus for the year ended
on 31st March, 2023.
5. We further report as under:
i) The said accounts are maintained regularly and in accordance with the provisions of
The Societies Registration Act, 1860 and rules thereunder;
ii) The receipts and disbursements and vouchers are properly and correctly shown in the
accounts;
iii) As per the members’ register available and as certified by the Managing Committee,
there are no ordinary membership fees and subscriptions outstanding for more than one
year as on 31.3.2023.
iiv) The expenditure incurred on behalf of the society/club has been sanctioned from time
to time by the Governing Body/Managing Committee or by other person or persons
authorized to do so, under the rules and regulations of the society/club.
v) No property or funds of the society/club have been applied for any object or purpose
other than the object or purpose of the society/club.
vi) Minutes of the meetings of the General Body and Governing Body (Managing
Committee) for the year ended 31-03-2023 have been maintained regularly and properly.
vii) The money of the club is invested as per the modes of investment prescribed by
the rules of the club.

I.STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
A. Recognition of Revenue and Expenditure
Revenue/expenditure are accounted for on accrual basis, as and when they are
duei) and /or incurred, except in the case of leave encashment, etc. which is accounted
for on cash basis.
ii)
B. Basis of Accounting
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention, on accrual
basis
i) of accounting, in conformity with the accounting principles generally accepted in
India. The club follows mercantile system of accounting in respect of all items of revenue
and
ii) expenditure except in the case of leave encashment, etc. which is accounted for
on cash basis.
iii)
C. Membership fees
Life membership fees, Donor membership fees, Corporate membership fees and
Patron
iiv) membership fees received during the year have been capitalized.
D. Fixed Assets.
i) Thev)Plot of land (admeasuring approx 12,877 sq. mtrs. constituting 1/11th portion
of property No. 2655 of chalta No.3 of P.T. Sheet No. 132 of City Survey Panaji situated
at Gaspar Dias, Miramar, Goa) was donated to the club vide Deed of Free Cession
vi)
(Gratuitous Transfer) dated 29th August, 1951 by CASA SOCIAL DOS CAMOTINS
MAMAIS. This plot of land has been shown in the schedule ‘A’ to the Balance Sheet
vii)
at ‘Nil’ value.
ii) Other Fixed Assets [except some old items included in Schedule ‘A’, whose original
cost could not be determined with reasonable accuracy and which are stated at carrying
values assigned by the management] are stated at cost of acquisition or construction
which includes expenses related to acquisition/construction and installation, which are
capitalized at actual [net], less accumulated depreciation. Generator donated to the club
during the year 2007/08 has been shown under Plant and Machinery at Nil value and
billiards/snooker tables donated to the club during the year 2008/09 and 2011/12 have
been shown as Recreational Equipment, at Nil value in schedule ‘A’ to the Balance Sheet
at Nil values.
iii) At the end of each year, the club reviews the carrying values of fixed assets to
determine whether a provision should be made in respect of impairment loss in respect
of fixed assets. At the end of the current year, no such provision is considered necessary.

E. Depreciation
i) Depreciation on Fixed Assets (other than land and Garden lawn) has been provided for
on W.D.V. at the rates considered appropriate by the management. Depreciation in
respect of additions to assets done after 30/09/2022 has been provided for at half the
rates.
F. Provisions and Contingent Liabilities.
Provisions are recognized when the entity has a legal and constructive obligation as a
result of a past event, for which it is probable that a cash outflow will be required and a
reliable estimate can be made of the amount of the obligation. Contingent liabilities are
disclosed when the entity has a possible obligation or a present obligation and it is
probable that a cash outflow may not be required to settle the obligation. On account of
the sub-judice status of the various mundcarial/ other cases pending in courts or other
wise, contingent liabilities are considered by the Legal Committee of the club after careful
evaluation of the facts and legal aspects of the matters involved and the club has not
made any provision in respect thereof. Various legal cases are pending against the club.
G. Retirement Benefits
i) The club is making regular contribution to the provident fund/ESI and the total contributions
(together with employees’ contributions) are deposited with Provident Fund Commissioner/
ESI & these contributions are charged to the Profit & Loss A/c.
ii) Provision only for Rs.1 Lac for retirement gratuity is made for the current year based on
estimates made by the management. No actuarial valuation has been done in respect of
the existing provision for gratuity. No provision is made in the accounts in respect of
encashable leave. Other retirement benefits, wherever applicable, are accounted for on
cash basis. The amount of provision for retirement benefits which has not been made is
not ascertainable.
H. Previous year’s figures have been re-grouped and re-arranged wherever necessary.

Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023

Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias organised the All Goa State Ranking Tennis Tournament
2023, “Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023” which was held in association with All Goa State
Tennis Association, from 26th January 2023 – 5th February 2023.
This tournament was conducted in various categories and we received a total of
365 entries this year. The tournament received an overwhelming response from
players who came from different parts of the country and
was well attended by our members and their guests.

All India Bridge Tournament
Our club organised “All India Bridge Tournament”, in association with,
The Goa Bridge Association, which was held from 22nd July 2022 to 24th July 2022.
The tournament was a big success.

in association with Disha Charitable Trust
Partnering with Disha School for Special Children
to host their Drawing Competition.
Disha Charitable Trust in association with our Club organised Annual All Goa

On 14th November, 2022 our Club organised Children’s Day Party
for Orphanage Children (NGO UDANT), Members Children’s and their guests,
total 109 children’s attended the party. The entire event was organised
by the club was free of cost.

Christmas Market
Club organised Christmas Market from 16th December,
2022 to 18th December, 2022 for Members and their Guests,
there were total 27 stalls out of which 5 were food stalls.

X-Mas Party
On 17th December, 2022 our club organised Annual Christmas Party for
Members Children’s and their Guests, “Frosty Snowman”.
There was tremendous response from the children.
There was magic show, face painting, candy floss, games, spot prizes.
There was also Santa Claus to distribute Chocolates and Gifts.
Two mascots were also there to entertain the children.
