HEALTHY HABITS: GUIDE TO REDUCING BAD HABITS 1. Awareness Acknowledge your bad habits of social media addition and think of good habits you could replace it with. 2. Avoidance Cues can be a big cause to habits like social media dependency. Avoid cues by leaving your phone in the car while you're in class or work so you will be less likely to fiddle with your phone. 3. Action Start performing your desired good habits whenever you are tempted or cued to check your social media. 4. Rinse and repeat Once you have successfully replaced your bad habit of social media dependency with a good one, move on to your next poor habit and do it all over again. 5. Stay Practical Habits are hard to break for a reason - that's what makes them habits. If you don't end up succeeding the first time, don't be discouraged and keep trying.
