Problem Statement
Develop a Device for Organizations like School,
Govt. Offices and Banks which can detect fire,
send alert on mobile and providing very low cost
service.
Rationale / Abstract
Detection of fire in homes is necessary to avoid
destruction of property due to fire accidents both
natural and induced. Detection of fire can prove to
be very important as it could mean the difference
between life and death. Fires can occur from
anywhere and at any point of time, hence the
presence of Fire Alarm System helps in keeping
your family safe. Providing low cost “Fire Alert
service” with holding some copyrights and
protocols of organizations.
Introduction
 Nowadays, Fire detecting and Alerting system are very common
in banks, offices, homes, etc.
 They usually detect fire and alert people with a siren. But, what
happens, when nobody is there to listen to the Alarm? Like
when nobody is at home or office.
 So, to inform the authority about fire incidents and
automatically extinguish the fire.
 We have made this IoT Fire Detector & Automatic Extinguisher
using the NodeMCU project.
Literature Survey
[Satvik Dasari] Fire is very deadly and it leads to loss of human life and property.
Fire detection systems are necessary to reduce the destruction of personal
belongings and caused by fire both man made and induced. The National Crime
Records Bureau indicates that there have been a total of 113961 fatalities due to
fire accidents during the years 2010 to 2014. Fire accidents claim roughly 65
victims every day.
[B Prabha] A total of 1.21 lakh fire accidents occurred between the years 2010
and 2014. Thankfully by the usage of more smart fire detecting systems the
number of fire accidents have been reducing steadily. One of the most
destructive properties of fire is that it spreads exponentially and with the right
medium can spread uncontrollably.
[Souad Kamel Mekni] This is why timely detection of fire is necessary for
avoiding a fire hazard. The Internet of Things is a collection of sensor, actuators,
software, electronics embedded with home appliances, physical devices and
vehicles which connect with each other to connect and exchange date which
helps in increasing the efficiency of everyday appliances using computer based
systems.
Hardware requirements
IOT based fire detection app design on blink
 First of all, open the blynk application.
 Click on the create a new project and enter the project
name as “IoT Fire Control“. Instead, you can type any
name. You can change the name later.
 Click on Choice Tools and
select NodeMCU ESP8266.
 Make sure the connection type is set to WIFI.
 Finally, click on the create button, and a verification
token will be sent to your email ID, which will be used in
the Program CODE.
 Click anywhere on the screen, and search for
the Notification Widget. Now Your designed IoT Fire
Control application is ready to use.
Circuit Diagram
Circuit Setup
• First of all, connect the Vin pin to the positive rail on
the breadboard.
• Then connect GND Pin to the negative rail of the
breadboard.
• To interfere with the flame sensor
Connect Vcc and GND to Vcc and GND on the
breadboard.
• Now Connect the D0 pin(signal pin of the flame
sensor) to the D1 pin of NodeMCU (ESP8266).
• Now let’s connect the Negative terminal of LED to
the GND Pin of NodeMCU and the Positive Terminal
to the D2 pin.
• Similarly, interface single channel relay GND and Vcc
pin to GND and Vcc. Then, Input the Pin to NodeMCU
D4 Pin.
• Now, connect the 12v DC fan positive terminal to the
normally open (NO) Pin, and connect the positive
terminal 12V adaptor to the common pin of the relay.
• Finally, the Negative Terminal of the DC fan to the 12v
adaptor Negative Terminal.
Advantages
 High accuracy
 Fast rescue
 Economical
 Highly sensitive
Disadvantages
 Network problems
 Manmade mistakes

Conclusion
Fire Alert System Based on Internet Of things
(IOT), it can be said that the growth and
advancement of Fire Alert System design is not
increasing at a predictable pace. In general, limited
to unique applications. By developing more robust
knowledge bases, general-purpose Fire Alert System
need improvements.
