Course Outcomes
Students will demonstrate an understanding of heat transfer modes including
conduction, convection, and radiation, an understanding of the associated physical
principles, the ability to solve transport problems for any process or system involving
heat transfer.
Course Catalog
Fundamentals of heat and mass transfer. Conduction, heat and mass transfer by
convection in laminar and turbulent flows, radiation heat transfer, and combined modes
of heat and mass transfer. Practical engineering applications. (Design units: 0),
Prerequisite: ENGRMAE 130B, Overlaps with CBE 120B.
Restriction
Mechanical Engineering Majors have first consideration for enrollment. Aerospace
Engineering Majors have first consideration for enrollment. Materials Science and Engr
Majors have first consideration for enrollment.
