1- SCOPE OF DESIGN
This document defines the Design Basis for Fire Water system and water deluge system
used for the following purposes:
•
Design of Fire Hydrant System.
•
Design of Fire Deluge System.
•
Design of Beam Detection System.

The fire protection system design will be adequate for the site conditions, to provide a
high degree of protection to the plant, equipment's, buildings and employees.

3- MAIN DESIGN PRINCIPLE
According to NFPA, the firefighting measures for building and equipment in the plant is as
mentioned in Table 3-1 below:

4- FIRE FIGHTING WATER & PUMP DEMAND CALCULATION
The source of water for the Fire Water Systems will be the proposed underground water
storage with proposed automatic water make-up line for level control.
Water supply Detail are as under according to the Fire Scenarios:
FIRE SCENARIO (1): 2 Fire Monitor, 1 HOSE REEL and 180 DELUGE NOZZLES ARE
