Content Standard
The learners demonstrate understanding of the images formed by the different types of mirrors and lenses
Performance Standards
Learning Competency
Predict the qualitative characteristics (orientation, type, and magnification) of images formed by plane and curved mirrors
and lenses (S10FE - IIg -50)
ELICIT
MATERIALS
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson.
PowerPoint presentation
1. What is convex mirror?
2. What is concave mirror?
3. Why is a concave mirror also called a diverging mirror?
4. Why is a convex mirror also called a converging mirror?
ENGAGE
The teacher will show pictures then ask the learners what they have observed.
Picture Presentation
1. What do you observe about the pictures?
2. Why do you think the images appeared to be inverted, enlarged or reduced?
Note: The teacher should
motivate students to share
their opinions to facilitate an
interactive discussion.
EXPLORE
Pre-activity:
Introduce Ray Diagram
1. Ray diagram is use to determine the LOST of image formed in front of curved
mirror.
2. LOST means Location, Orientation, Size, Type of image
Acitivty Proper:
Prepare the following materials:
1. Printed activity sheets
2. Pencil
3. Ruler
EXPLAIN
The students will present and discuss their activity based the data that will collect on the
given table.
See attached activity sheet
entitled “Lost and Found”
ELABORATE (ICT Integration)
Simulation
Now click on the concave mirror button.
Slide the object back and forth, moving it from very far away from the mirror to very
close.
Describe where the image is, its size relative to the object and orientation
(Hint: There are three different cases; Closer than the focus; further away than the
focus but closer than twice the focal length; further away than twice the focal
length.)
