Đề bài 1: ban dep
You said you’d like to come and stay for a while in the sunmer, so I’m writing
to ask if you’d like in juny.
By the way, it’s my brother Tim’s 18th birday on 10th Juny so try to be here then,
because there’ll a big special patry to go to. Lots of our friends and relatives will
be there!
I’m on holiday in Juny too, so perhaps we could go camping for a few days as
well?
If you’re coming, let me know if there’s anything else you’d particularly like to
do. Then I can make some plans.
Example:
Dear Hary,
That's great to hear from you. I have 2 months of summer vacation from June
to July so I will definitely visit your country in July. I still remember wishing Tim
the best wishes on his birthday last year and promised to meet him someday in the
future. And now is the most reasonable time. It will be a great time for you to
attend his birthday and meet your friends and relatives.
Camping and visiting those famous places are all my plans on this trip to your
country. And the most important thing I wish for is to have the opportunity to
meet friends who I haven't seen for a long time. I believe it will be much more
interesting and meaningful when you join me. Surely we will have a lot of fun
and beautiful memories then.
After this trip, when I return, I will take the graduation exam. My plan is also
to study more after graduation. I will research some universities in your country
and I will try to pass the exam.
Can you help me visit these universities while I'm there? I'm really grateful
and appreciate your help.
I look forward to seeing you in your country soon.
Best regards,

TASK 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You received an email from your English friend, Jane. She asked you for
some information about the way to keep fit. Read part of her email below.
I enjoy my job but I often sit at a computer all day. I don’t get much
exercise so I often feel tired. I consider going to the gym but I often
work very late. Could you recommend something else I should do to
keep fit? Do I really need an instructor or I can do by myself? Also,
do I need to buy any equipment to do exercise? Does it cost much to
buy them?
I look forward to your reply.
Write an email responding to Jane. You should write at least 120 words. You
mustn’t include your name or addresses.
DearJane,
I am very happy to hear from you again. I really understand your situation
because many persons are facing up with this difficulty in modern life. I think
you do not need to go to the gym or buy any equipment to do exercise. You only
need to wake up a little bit earlier than normal and spend 30 minutes per day to
work out at home. Work out at home can give you more freedom and flexibility
and fit into your busy schedule. You can do several simple exercises such a
squat, plank, push-up or take break time to walk around your office. The level
will increase day by day, don’t push you yourself to reach high target at the
beginning.
In addition, do not forget to prepare menu with healthy dishes: drink 1.5 – 2
liters of water per day, eat salads and fresh fruits, and avoid using caffeine,
cigarettes, fast food as much as possible.
I hope my suggestions can help you to improve your health in some ways.
And you can search more information to know more about how to work out at
home from the Internet.
I’m looking forward to hearing your good news in the next letter.
Yours faithful,

You received an email from your English friend, Lily. She asked you for some
information about traditional festivals in your country. Read part of her
email below.
I have just watched such a fantastic program about traditional
festivals in the world. There are not many festivals like these in my
country. Are there many traditional festivals in your country? Which
is the most popular one? Could you tell me about it? In what time of
the year does it happen? What do people often do in this occasion? Is
it widely known by international tourists? Do young people in your
country still enjoy it?
I look forward to your reply.
Write an email responding to Lily. You should write at least 120 words. You do
not need to include your name or addresses.
Dear Lily,
I am so glad to hear from you. There are many traditional festivals in Vietnam.
The most popular countrywide festival is our Lunar New Year Festival, also
known as Tet. It celebrates new year in Lunar Calendar, normally in January or
February of Catholic Calendar. People will buy new clothes, clean or refurnish
and decorate their houses with beautiful kumquat trees or cherry blossom trees.
On first day of new year the elders will give lucky money to the youngers, packed
in red envelops. I am sure you heard about this festival because it is widely known
by international tourists as well. We young people still enjoy it very much as we
will have a long holiday and spend time with families and friends, last but not
least receive lucky money. If you find it interesting, you are welcome to join us
in the coming Tet.
Sincerely yours,

This is part of an email your received form your English – speaking friend,
Anna. She asked you for some information for her next trip to your
hometown. “I am planning to visit your city next month and I am really
excited about the trip. Can you suggest somewhere to stay and tell me a little
bit about What I can do in your hometown? What clothes should I bring?
Dear Anna,
I was very glad to receive your letter and know that you wanted to visit my
hometown next month. I'm sorry I haven't written to you for so long because I
have been really busy with my work.Firstly, you can stay at my house when you
arrive in Ha Noi. My parents will be very happy if you visit them and enjoy the
meals they cook. They also miss you very much. If you want to stay with your
friends, You can choose a hotel near Hoan Kiem Lake - the center of the
city where many tourist attractions are concentrated.
Secondly, in Ha Noi, there are many places you can discover such as Hoan
Kiem lake, the oldquarter, Mot Cot pagoda ... and enjoy local food, especially
Pho.Finaly, the weather is starting to get cold, so you should bring sweatshirts and
jackets.
I hope you will have a good time in Hanoi and I'm looking forward to seeing
you.
Best wishes,
Mary

You are helping to organize a visit to an English Language Academy in
Manchester. You have received a letter from Harris Parks, the director of
the Academy. Read the letter.
I am very glad to see that you are coming to our academy in July. I am sure
you will all have a very enjoyable time and that you will learn a lot of
English.
You can either stay all together in a youth hostel, or individually with local
families. Please tell me which you would prefer.
Tell me something about your group so that I can organize interesting spare
time activities. What sort of things do they like doing?
Please ask if you need any further information.
Yours sincerely,
Harris Parks
Write an email responding to John Webster. You should write at least 120
words. You are not allowed to include your name. SUGGESTED ANSWER
Dear Harris Parks, I would like to thank you for your letter which
arrived on 8th May. I am writing to provide you with information about the stay
of my group in Manchester. We really appreciate the possibility we were given
by English Language Academy. This visit is a big advantage for us for the
reason that it helps to improve and foster our English communication skills.
Regarding the accommodations, all of us prefer staying with local families
instead of the youth hostel. It will be a great opportunity for us to get to know
local culture and enjoy different kinds of local food. Most members in my group
are around 20-25, so I would expect to take them around the city and visit
several famous places in Manchester such as Manchester Town Hall, Centre
Library or Football Club Museum when they can arrange their time. Thank you
again for your support and your warm welcome to your city. Yours sincerely,
Michael
