Average time of grade 12 stem students in attending synchronous classes per day
1. RESEARCH DESIGN
This study uses a descriptive research design, in which the researcher collects data from people by
randomly selecting and analyzing samples chosen from the population. In order to have an output, this
research design relies on distributing survey questionnaires to the covered population and analyzing the
data obtained in order to provide the results desired by the researcher. The survey questions will cover
three specific areas: the average time of students attending synchronous classes per day, the factors
affecting their admittance, and strategies used by students to access online classes despite
these factors.
2. HYPOTHESIS
Ho: The average amount of time spent in online classes by grade 12 stem students is not accurate due
to various factors affecting their admittance.
Ha: The average amount of time spent in online classes by grade 12 stem students is accurate.

Instrumentation and data collection
The survey questionnaire is composed of different questions that will respond to the
statement of the problem. In the preparation of the instrument, the requirements in the design
of good data collection were considered. The students completed the questionnaire with three
(3) sections. The first section included the students’ demographic/ personal data. To get
descriptive characteristics for the students, demographic information was gathered. For the
second section, there will be an 8-item liker scale type of question used for the evaluation of the
students’ average time in attending synchronous classes per day. For the third section, openended options were provided to accommodate to free formatted views related to the topics or
issues. In this way, the instrument is authorized to obtain valid responses from the students.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the face-to-face setting is prohibited; therefore, conduction of
survey and questionnaires will be done online. These questions will analyze the perspectives of a
large number of students in order to examine the subject's factors, whether or not they are
significant in the subject.
This survey questionnaire will be conducted for days according to the availability of the
students. The sampling method to be used in this research is simple random sampling.
Depending on the availability of the respondents, this might take up to five days to collect data
for the input and weighted mean for each question, which will be tabulated for analysis.
