HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT INTERN, GLOBAL PATHWAYS
Located in the heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known
tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses
in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Since opening its doors in 1967, Niagara College has grown to
become a leader in education and training and one of the most enterprising colleges in Canada.
Applications are invited for the position of Human Resources Management (“HRM”) Intern, Global
Pathways, in the Global Engagement Division, located at the Niagara College Welland Campus, with the
possibility of being remote. This position will be 12 hours per week for the Fall term. Cover letters and

Reporting to the Global Pathways Manager, the HRM Intern, Global Pathways will be responsible for
supporting the administrative functions and operations of the Global Pathways Manager, within the Global
Engagement Division, such as data entry and management, process implementation and training, special
events coordination, and program development, amongst others. The successful HRM Intern will be
detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support the development of a mentorship program for Niagara International
Develop a project plan with key milestones.
Develop a process for individuals to self-identify as mentors or prospective mentees (including
supervisory sign-off).
Make recommendations regarding a matching process for mentors/mentees.
Plan and implement a mentorship launch event; mid-program touch-base; and celebratory event
at program end.
Develop a mentorship newsletter and resources to support mentors/mentees throughout the
journey.
Provide monthly tasks for mentors/mentees to consider during their mentorship meetings.
Develop training materials for mentors/mentees.
Update divisional databases, data entry, and management of Global Partnerships.
Develop evaluation and assessment tools.
Develop a program manual and training material.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Working towards a graduate certificate, advanced diploma, or bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources Management or a relevant field.
• A proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment.
• Experience in data entry, participative consultations, program development, and report-writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
