Activity 4.10 A. Davos Has It All Again – Except the Worlds Most Powerful Person, Bloomberg Politics, January 19, 2023. B. This article talks about a World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland which is attended by many people in the Governments of Europe, and the U.S. They explained that Biden himself or VP Harris did not show up however, which led for there to be questions regarding certain U.S policies and how they affect Europe financially (see Inflation Reduction Act) but U.S senator Joe Manchin who was in attendance did reassure others that the U.S means no harm on their allies and will work with them to reassure they share the same goals. C. One cultural lesson that I learned is that Europe in fact does look at U.S policies and the consequential impact that they can have on countries in Europe. I also learned that Europe is especially informed on the political reasons why someone like Biden would not attend a meeting because of political fallback. Its intriguing to see how closely they look at our policies and the actions of our leader in President Biden. D. I think that the way the culture would affect communication is business is actually a positive one. Not only are Europeans knowledgeable of foreign policies but they are willing to seek reassurance and further knowledge in order to understand certain policies and regulations. This shows that just because they may have questions doesn’t mean they are going to abandon rapport but rather come with a solution oriented mindset.
