Elective Description
Minimum 3-4 week electives or 4 consecutive weeks split between different sites (e.g., 2 weeks MCH, 2 weeks
RVH). From July to Mid-December. 1-2 student per sites. Limited spots available.

Educational Objectives
Student will have supervised experiences related to the basics of resuscitation, preoperative, intraoperative,
and postoperative anesthesia care and on-call clinical apprentice sessions. Students will also be asked to
demonstrate understanding of clinical applications of pharmacology and physiology. Additionally, students will
acquire the basic knowledge to assess and treat acute and chronic pain.
Scope of Work
Work hours 7:30-4:00, on-call schedule 1 call (4 pm to 10 pm) operating room, and preoperative assessments in
operating room.
