Nature of the module This module equips students with fundamental knowledge in crisis management and crisis communication management. This course will discuss what causes different types of organizational crises, what to do when crises hit and how to learn from past crises and prevent future crises with a casebook approach. Students will discuss prior case studies relating to crisis communication to learn the prepatation process for a crisis, what would be the critical elements to include in a crisis management plan. 3. Learning objectives On the completion of this module students should be able to: 3.1. Recognize risks to an organization’s well-being 3.2. Understand crisis communication theory model 3.3. Understand what constitutes an organizational crisis 3.4. Identify techniques for preventing crises 3.5.
