Checklist for Writing a Biography
Learning Intention: I can use my knowledge of a famous person to write a biography.
After writing the biography of your favourite person, check if it follows
the below given success criteria. Write yes or no in front of each
criterion.
Success Criteria
1. I have given an interesting title to the biography.
2. I have written the biography in past tense.
3. I used third person pronouns (he/she/it).
4. I started the biography with a catchy introduction including the
details of 5 Ws (who, what, when, where, why)
5. I divided the biography into paragraphs.
6. I described the key events in chronological order.
7. I used time openers (In 1971,) and connectives (First, then, after)
wisely.
8. I included a quote from others stating what they have said about
him/her.
9. I ended the biography with a conclusion.
10. I have checked my work twice and corrected all the spelling and
punctuation errors.
