To file your application: 1. Select Create Application button in the center of the blue header 2. Select Residential Permits 3. Select Res. Permit - Fence; select OK 4. Select Begin Application 5. Input a Location including project address, or use the map to identify the location 6. Select Next located below map 7. Fill in Applicant, Property Owner, Contractor, and Contact Person information. Select Use My Information to auto-populate the account registration information. If you are a homeowner and will be doing the work yourself, list SELF under Contractor 8. Add Documents. For the required site plan, click Label and select Site Plan. 9. Enter Estimated Cost of Construction, New Construction Square Feet (“0” for fences), Height of Fence, Fence Material, and Type of Fence. Privacy Fences are those up to six-feet tall without visibility through them, including shadow box fences. Ornamental Fences are those up to four-feet tall with at least 50% opacity. 10. Select Submit Once submitted, permits generally take 2-3 weeks to review. Staff will reach out to the designated Contact Person with any questions. Once the permit has been approved, the designated Contact Person will be notified. At that time, you can come into our office to pay with exact cash, card, or check made out to the City of Delaware. You are also welcome to call and pay with a credit card over the phone and receive a digital copy of your permit. Once payment is received, construction can begin.
