I plan to pursue a career in human resources and become a manager one day. Onet

manager should have strong listening, speaking, reading, Management, Decision Making,
problem-solving, Negotiation, and writing skills, The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) states
that Communication skills, Decision-making skills, Interpersonal skills and being Detail oriented
are keys skills needed to become a Human resource manager.Onet Online explains that the
abilities of oral Comprehension, written comprehension, deductive reasoning, speech clarity,
problem sensitivity, near vision, and fluency of ideas allow human resources managers to thrive
in the field (“Human”).

at personnel related hearings and investigations. Onet Continues to report Negotiate agreements
and help interpret labor contracts, Identify short staffing and recruit, interview, and select
applicants. The website Continues to report that Human resources managers Provide current and
potential employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages,
opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits. According to Bureau of Labor and Statistics
(BLS) Human resources manager Coordinate and supervise the work of specialists and support
staff.

about 174,200 jobs in 2021. Out of those 174,200 16% work in Professional, scientific, and
technical services, 13% work in Management of companies and enterprises, 10% in
Manufacturing, 8% in Healthcare and social assistance and goverment. Human resources
managers work in offices. Some managers, especially those working for organizations that have
offices nationwide, travel to visit other branches, attend professional meetings, or recruit
employees.

$126,230 in May 2021. Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) also reports that the lowest 10

To pursue a career in Human resources I plan to take the following courses at Columbus
State Community College: STAT1400, PHIL 1101, ECON 1110, PYS 1100, COLS 1100, CSCI
1101, LEGL 2064, BOA 1300, SOC 2380, BMGT 2216, BMGT 2200, BOA 1200, HRM 1121,
HMR 1223, HMR 1224, HMR 1225, HMR 1825, BMGT 1102, HRM 2221, HMR 2901 and
other electives to reach 60 credit hours. I plan to graduate with my Associate of Bussiness
management in Human resources at the end of fall 2026. I plan to take 9-12 credit hours per
semester and maintain a GPA of 3-4. I am still undecided if I want to transfer to a 4-year
institution. The BLS continues to report that the average job outlook is 7%.
