2.
INSTALLATION OF ICS, DIODES AND CAPACITORS:
Check installation and orientation for all ICs, diodes and electrolytic capacitors.
3.
JACKS:
Make sure all jacks are mounted flush with the PCB and lined up with silkscreen outline. Make sure all
jacks are perpendicular to the PCB within +/-1 degree of accuracy. ALL jacks are MOUNTED on TOP side
and SOLDERED on the BOTTOM side.
4.
SD CARD:
90-20-0366
Rev.A
Make sure SD card was inserted into SD jack correctly and locked by SD jack.
The Micro-SD card must be glued in the connector with epoxy. Make sure the epoxy doesn’t get inside
the connector, just holds the card in so that epoxy would be broken if SD card is removed.
Right
The SD card must be
glued in the connector
to use epoxy.
5.
HEADERS:
Make sure headers are mounted flush with the PCB before soldering. Make sure orientation consistent to
silkscreen..
6.
GROUNDING FINGERS:
90-20-0366
Rev.A
ALL grounding fingers 30-18-3030 are mounted flush against the PCB edge. They are mounted with their
center clip hole on the bottom side of the PCB (all jacks are on the top side) see drawing below. The “curl”
of the grounding finger should curve toward the top side (toward the corresponding jack if there is one).
They should then be manually soldered on the bottom side.
7.
SCREW TERMINAL:
Install SCREW TERMINAL BR1 (21-18-0002) on the TOP side as shown in picture below, Make sure the
BR1 is mounted flush with the PCB and straight within +/-1 degree of accuracy.
8.
Mezzanine board:
90-20-0366
Rev.A
Make sure Mezzanine board was soldered to main board of A37-1 to use SMT. The Mezzanine board is
paneled with UI board. First, solder BT module on the Mezzanine board(paneled with UI board) to
use SMT, second, separate the Mezzanine board and UI board, finally, solder the Mezzanine board on
main board.

5.
HEADERS:
Make sure headers are mounted flush with the PCB before soldering. Pin 1 is designated by a
square pad on the PCB footprint, and the H4 header orientation key is indicated on the silkscreen, as
detailed below.
The H4 header has an arrow indicating Pin 1 on the same side as the orientation key.
Make sure that header H5 is installed at right angles to the PCB as shown below. This will aid in
assembly to the power supply and base plate.
7. SCREW TERMINALS
Install the SCREW TERMINALS MB1 and MB2 (21-18-0002) on the top side, as shown in the picture below.
Make sure the terminals are mounted flush with the PCB and straight within +/-1 degree of accuracy.
90-20-0383
Rev.A
8. THROUGH-HOLE COMPONENT HEIGHT
Install the TO-220 Devices (U4, U5, Q2 and Q11) so that bottom of transistor case is 4mm above the top of the
PCB. This is especially important for Q2 and Q11 so that the heat-sink clamp will align properly with the body of the
devices.
Install TO-92 packages (U8, U9, U10, and U13) at a height of 4mm as well. In addition, angle the temperature
sensor U8 towards the heat sink approximately 15 degrees , so that it will make contact with the heat sink when the unit
is assembled.
9. ADHESIVE
Several of the taller through-hole components will benefit from careful application of adhesives to strengthen them
against vibration induced lead fatigue. Apply adhesives to reinforce the component areas designated by the blue
markings in the image below. Adhesive maybe applied to the bases of components or along adjoining seams between
free standing parts. Examples of recommended adhesives would be Sony Chemical SC121 or equivalent or Dow
Corning 737 Silicone or equivalent.
