REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Production Methods The physical and chemical properties, non-destructive testing methods and other relevant issues of modified 4340 steel material required to be produced are given below. 1. The production method of electric arc furnace, ladle furnace, vacuum degassing and electro slag re-melting methods shall be used respectively in the manufacturing of steel ingots. 2. Steel billets will be fully killed by the addition of Aluminum. 3. The tonnages and dimensions of the crucibles to be cast will be determined by the manufacturer, taking into account the requested ingot sizes with a minimum forging ratio of 3.
