SINGLE CHASSIS FLASHBLADE® //S INSTALL CHECKLIST For Implementation Engineers (IEs) to be considered authorized to deliver installation services for Single Chassis FlashBlade//S, they need to demonstrate the ability to perform/explain basic NAS storage, networking, Linux/Unix and scripting tasks to perform the following: PREP BEFORE ONSITE WORK WHEN ONSITE ☐ Review the Salesforce order to verify what was ordered ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ reflects what is expected in the scope of work. ☐ If you see any issues or have questions, contact the Account Team to review what is expected compared to Calendar Invite and Salesforce. ☐ If existing customer, review current arrays in Skyline (type, blade size, code level, etc.). ☐ Determine the correct version of Purity to be used for installation and ensure you have PM approval when required. ☐ Download the needed code (Purity//FB, FBtools) and the install guide. ☐ Copy the files to a USB drive (formatted FAT32). ☐ Set up a prep call with Account Team and customer to review Implementation. ☐ Review Workbook (IWB) and go over the rack space, power, and network requirements (LAG speed, whether in-band or out-of-band management). o Note that if using 24Gig, 40Gig, or 100Gig LAG, customer will need to supply the network cables. Pure only supplies cables for 10Gig and 25Gig breakout cables. The customer is responsible for Top of Rack SFPs. Inspect the new hardware for any damages. Rack and stack the new FlashBlade. Power up the FlashBlade. Ensure the power cables are connected to redundant PDUs. Mount USB drive Create directory /ssd/releases. Copy files to /ssd/releases. Combine files with cat. Upgrade Purity. Run fbsetup to configure the FlashBlade. Create additional port lags, when required. Configure the data network. Run basic health check to confirm hardware is healthy and phoning home. ☐ Confirm customer can access the GUI. ☐ Contact Support to run full health check. ☐ Conduct knowledge transfer with the customer (GUI overview, create file systems, mounting file system, etc.). ☐ One to two days prior to engagement, contact Support and open case for health check and assistance with any issue that might come up during the install. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ Verify networking. Enable remote assist and verify phone home functionality. Run fbhealth. Understand the output of health checks and clear the errors.
