2022-2023 November Newsletter MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Shadow Ridge Families, It's a great day to be a Stallion. I hope this newsletter finds everyone doing well. We are excited to announce that the Arizona Department of Education has recognized us as an “A” school. Not all families in Arizona can say that their child attends an “A” school, and this accomplishment is due to the teachers, staff, and support of our community. We would like to thank each family for allowing us the opportunity to work with your children. Part of celebrating a school is getting the word out about the amazing things Shadow Ridge does to support your children. Understanding this, we would love your help and support with doing school reviews on Google, GreatSchools, and Niche. We would also like to wish each family a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving Break. When we return from break on November 28th, we are three weeks from finishing 1st semester. With that said, please communicate with your students the importance of being at school on time everyday and staying focused on their academics to finish the semester strong. IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER: November November November December 11th - Veterans Day 14th - Ottawa AZ Parent Open House 21st - 25th - Thanksgiving Break 3rd - Saturday Academy & FAFSA Workshop at District Office Academic Update As we get closer to the end of the semester, we wanted to remind parents that monitoring student grades and attendance is quick and easy by visiting parent portal. The parent portal allows parents to access grades, attendance, schedules, and more, and provides the opportunity to update annual student information. To get started today, click on the link above. Another great resource where information can be found is on Schoology. If your child is absent, many teachers have created a schoology class that students can access missing assignments. This is also another place that we communicate information with your children. Please note that your parent portal sign in information is the same. ASVAB What is the ASVAB? Why is it important? The ASVAB is an aptitude assessment that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success. Students can use the results of this assessment to start thinking about future college or career plans based on what they are currently skilled at. ASVAB testing will be February 14th.
