Individual Battery Voltage – Continuous 4 second sampling
to ensure correct float charge and identify any voltage drop

Individual Battery Impedance – detection of faulty battery
before failure and life trend can be used to predict end of
life
Individual Battery Temperature – better knowledge of
temperature gradients in cabinets; detection of thermal
runaway
String Voltage – confirmation of total string voltage and
avoid incorrect float charge affecting the battery life
What PowerShield Monitor
String Current – allows detection of unbalanced strings,
and provides rapid understanding of battery activity
Ambient Temperature at the cabinet/rack – high
temperatures kill batteries. Every 10°C increase gives a 50%
decrease in life expectancy
Humidity – detect of high humidity that can cause
corrosion to the battery terminal
Ripple Voltage – confirmation of UPS operation as
