The Islamic Republic of Pakistan – Position Paper Delegate Name – Kartik Sanghvi Agenda – The Rising Concern of Indefinite Colonisation in the Occupied Syrian Golan Country – The Islamic Republic of Pakistan Committee – SPECPOL (Special Political and Decolonisation Committee) Pakistan is the world’s sixth-most populous country with a population exceeding 235,409,000 people. It is the 33rd-largest country by land area, spanning 881,913 square kilometres. Pakistan has a 1,046-kilometer coastline along the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the. After British Raj in 1947. Pakistan is bordered by the India-administered Kashmir to the east, Afghanistan to the northwest and the nation of Iran and the whole of Baluchistan to the west. To the south lies the Arabian Sea. Pakistan's economy has been in a precarious state in recent years. The country has been grappling with a number of issues, including high inflation, dwindling foreign reserves, and a widening trade deficit. These problems have been compounded by political instability and insecurity, which have led to a decline in foreign investment. As a result, Pakistan's economy has been growing at a slower pace than its regional peers. Pakistan has been an outspoken critic of Israel's occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights, and has consistently called for a withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory. In 2010, Pakistan was one of 14 nations to vote in favor of a United Nations General Assembly resolution calling on Israel to comply with Security Council resolutions and withdraw from the Golan Heights. the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been an important player in the Syrian conflict, both through its military support for the Syrian government and its role in hosting Syrian refugees. Pakistan has a long history of support for the Syrian government, dating back to the Cold War. This support has continued through the Syrian conflict, with Pakistan sending military advisers and equipment to help the Syrian army. Pakistan has also been one of the main destinations for Syrian refugees, with over 1.5 million Syrians registered with the Pakistani government. Pakistan has set up a number of refugee camps and has provided humanitarian assistance to Syrians. Pakistan has never been colonized by any country, although there have been several attempts by various empires to do so. The most notable of these was the failed attempt by the British to colonize Pakistan in the late 19th century. Pakistan has provided military training and equipment to the Syrian military, as well as financial and political support to the Syrian government. In addition, Pakistan has been working to promote a political solution to the conflict, and has hosted several rounds of peace talks between the Syrian government and opposition.. 1 The Islamic Republic of Pakistan – Position Paper Pakistan provides to Syria for the Golan Heights region is not public information. However, it is known that Pakistan is a strong supporter of Syria's territorial integrity and has condemned Israel's occupation of the Golan Heights. In addition, Pakistan has provided Syria with military and financial assistance in the past, and it is likely that Pakistan is continuing to provide some level of support for Syria's efforts to reclaim the Golan Heights region. Pakistan has consistently supported the inalienable right of the Syrian people to self-determination and the creation of an independent and sovereign Syrian State, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions. Pakistan also reaffirms its support for the full implementation of the Arab Peace Initiative, as the most viable and practical framework for achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In this context, Pakistan strongly condemns the illegal occupation of the Syrian Golan by Israel and calls for its immediate and unconditional withdrawal from the occupied territory, in accordance with Security Council resolution 497 (1981). Pakistan also deplores Israel’s continued construction and expansion of illegal settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan and its exploitation of the natural resources of the area. Pakistan urges the international community, particularly the Security Council, to play its role in compelling Israel to comply with its obligations under international law and UN resolutions, and to bring an end to its occupation of the Syrian Golan. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan would want to accomplish the goal of removal of Israeli troops from the Syrian Golan ending this major colonization that hasn’t been worked up on since decades. The present study is of the qualitative type, with a descriptive and analytical approach. The findings of this study indicate that the relationship between Israel and the United States is based on the political, military, economic and cultural interests of both countries; that the relationship is not balanced and that Israel receives more support than the United States; Israel has a stronger influence on the United States than the United States has on Israel and that the United States is committed to Israel’s security, including the security of the Syrian Golan Heights. The results also point to the fact that Israel has a negative influence on the Syrian Golan Heights, which it occupies and colonizes. The Syrian Golan Heights is one of the most important strategic points in the Middle East and its occupation by Israel affects Syria and the rest of the region. Israel uses the Syrian Golan Heights to attack Syria and the Syrian people, and to threaten neighbouring countries. The study concludes that the relationship between Israel and the United States is harmful to the Syrian Golan Heights and to Syria, and that it is in the interests of both countries to improve the relationship between Syria and the United States.
