(i) Assessment:
The assessment od SDP for certification will be conducted in the following manner:
Marks of Quiz, Practical, Assignment and Attendance will be considered for providing certification
of successful completion of the course.
Total pass percentage would be 40 %.
Total marks: 100.
A Quiz of 50 marks containing objective and subjective questions based on the topics covered in the
SDP will be conducted on the last day of the SDP.
A practical of 30 marks will be conducted based on the hands-on training of the techniques provided
in the SDP.
A project based on the field visit will be evaluated for 10 marks.
Attendance: 10 marks
50 % Attendance will be compulsory for the certification of successful completion of the SDP.

Instruments: Compound Microscope, Stage Microscope, pH meter, Weighing balance, Distillation
unit.
Glassware: Beaker (100 ml, 50 ml), flask (250 ml, 500 ml), measuring cylinder (100 ml), pipette (10
ml), dropper, glass rod, funnel, glass slides, cover slip, petri plate, porcelain dish.
Chemicals: Universal Indicator, Diphenylamine (0.5% diphenylamine in 90% sulphuric acid),
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), Silver nitrate (AgNO3), 1N HCl, Barium Chloride (BaCl2), Safranin,
cotton blue, lactophenol, glycerin, Gram’s Iodine, Crystal Violet, Alcohol.
Miscellaneous: Groove tiles, pH paper, Whatman # 1 filter paper, distilled water, brush, needle,
foreceps, blotting paper.
Material: Vermicompost, leaf compost, soils-garden, roadside, pond, clayey, sandy.
Biological Material: Azolla, Root nodules of leguminous plants, Oxalis root and rhizospheric soil.
