Rationale:
For the past years, the Camanlangan National High School participate
the Division and Regional Schools Press Conference. With this result, the Camanlangan
National High School School Paper Adviser (English & Filipino) agreed to come up with a
training workshop to assist individual school contestant in the upgrading of their journalistic
skills.
VIII.
Objectives:
1. To develop the journalistic skills of teacher – advisers and campus journalists.
2. To further equip the teacher- advisers and campus journalists with much needed skills in the
field of journalism.
3. To improve the division, regional and national performance in the individual or group
contest.
IX.
Legal Basis:
RA 7079 or the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, provides that “Freedom
of Press must be promoted even at the campus level” and mandates the Department of
Education “to conduct training programs and press conferences on the institutional,
divisional, regional and national levels, culminating in the holding of the annual NSPC in
coordination with the national organizations of the school Paper Adviser.
